Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen-B'da: Ex-students association, PRENEXA, begins Silver Jubilee preparations.

Cross-section of ex-students during AGM

The Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen Ex-students Association, PRENEXA, has begun preparations for its Silver Jubilee celebration to take place next year in the North West Regional capital, Bamenda.

Preparations for the event formed the high point of discussions during the Association’s 11th Annual General Assembly, AGM, that spanned August 15 to 17 in Yaounde.

During the AGM, the PRENEXA Silver Jubilee fabric was unveiled and launched. The National Vice President of PRENEXA, Nintai Cedric, said the launching of the fabric is to create awareness among ex-students about ongoing preparations for the Silver Jubilee.

Nintai charged members to return to their various chapters and places of residence and continue mobilisation of the event.

He said the event will be of great importance to Presbyterian High School Nkwen and the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC.

The National President of PRENEXA, Nkengla Blesse, restated his commitment to keep the Association buoyant.

He expressed delight in strides made by the association, sounding positive that more will be achieved in the coming years.

“We don’t only hold the AGM for fun but to build our career, our Alma Matter and bring together all ex-students no matter their location,” Nkengla remarked.

He disclosed that 11 years back, PRENEXA had just about six members. He rejoiced that the association has grown to having branches at home and abroad. Nkengla restated that PRENEXA “…has come to stay and has great celebrations ahead”.

Nkengla declared that work will intensify to liaise with the association’s branch presidents to group all ex-students across the globe. He disclosed that “…in the months ahead, we will be talking of creating a North America branch”.

Members benefit didactics for their children ahead of new school year

Boosting school resumption

Nkengla noted that given the improved security situation in Bamenda, Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen authorities are working to reopen the boarding section of the establishment this 2025/2026 school year.

“…it is a project we started already and it is going to be a milestone. We know it will be made feasible with God on our side,” Nkengla stated, asserting that former students have a role to play in informing people about its reopening to boost enrolment.

The association, during the Yaounde AGM, also donated didactics to its members to assist them in sending their children back to school for the new academic year. The didactics comprised bags, books and pens.

According to the National President, “our back-to-school support for PRENEXA parents is just to tell us that charity begins at home. We started with ourselves to support our children with didactics materials all customized to tell us how much the association has grown”.

Members laud PRENEXA’s fresh momentum

Members left the AGM in Yaounde saluting the new momentum of PRENEXA to cover new ground. They expressed gratitude to the Central Bureau of the Association for its hard work to ensure things are in order.

They further praised the Central Bureau for its constant visit to Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen to encourage the teachers, students and provide assistance.

Members pledged their support to the Central Bureau to make sure the Silver Jubilee succeeds and boarding section of the school reopens this new school year.
