The event, staged in Yaounde, last Saturday, was rich in colour and fanfare. It pulled an unprecedented crowd of sons and daughters of the Mbu Clan, who turned out in their numbers to honour one of theirs.

The high-profile gathering was chaired by former Governor and presently National Coordinator of DDR, Fai Yengo Francis.

Speaking at the ceremony, Fai Yengo Francis lauded the appointee for her dedication before calling on the Mbu Clan to translate their words into action, by ensuring a resounding victory for the CPDM candidate at the October 12 presidential election.

Fai Yengo congratulated Mafor Judith Achidi for her courage and exceptional work, which earned her a place in what he described as the “most intimate part” of the ruling CPDM party.

The 13 Fons present at the ceremony bestowed royal blessings on Mafor Yah Sunday in recognition of her achievements.

Speaking on behalf of the Mbu Development and Cultural Association, its President, Bafri Gerald Achu, expressed profound joy at the recognition bestowed upon Mafor Yah Judith.

He highlighted her outstanding stewardship at CAMTEL, noting that her managerial know-how has propelled the national telecoms giant to remain a leading service provider in the Central Africa Subregion.

“It is the good work you have done and continue to do at CAMTEL that convinced the Head of State, President Paul Biya, to elevate you to the Central Committee of the CPDM,” he declared.

Mafor Judith Achidi took to the rostrum to express gratitude to President Paul Biya, for entrusting her with such a prestigious responsibility.

“His confidence in me is a privilege that I don’t take lightly. It is a duty I carry with humility and devotion,” she said, also paying tribute to The First Lady Chantal, Biya for her guidance.

She described the celebration, not just as a personal honour but also as recognition of the values of solidarity, unity, and progress upheld by the Mbu Clan.

“Your support, your recognition and your prayers, are more than encouragement. They remind me that individual achievements only find true meaning when shared with the community,” she remarked.

The CAMTEL boss revealed plans for a free-health campaign in Santa on August 28, 2025; which she said is aimed at addressing the basic health needs of the population.

She pledged her continued commitment to national development, under the leadership of President Biya, before urging her community to stand firm behind the Head of State during the upcoming poll.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Mafor Judith Achidi reiterated her gratitude for the trust placed in her by the President.

“The Head of State has trusted me by making me a member of the CPDM Central Committee, a permanent member. This is a sign of great confidence. Our community has come together today to thank him and to assure him that come October 12, all of us will stand firmly behind him,” she stressed.

The colorful ceremony ended with cultural displays from dance groups and artists.

Among the traditional rulers present at the ceremony were the Fons of Mbei, Baba II, Ngyenmbo, Oku, Njong, Meforbe, Barforkum, Mbessa, Mejung, Alahtenung, Akum, Nzah and Baforchu.
