Year of peace, holistic dev’t

In his address to Christians and population after assuming office as Executive President, Rev Dr Teke John Ekema urged all the Christians to join him to rebuild and ensure a peaceful environment for all.

“2025 is a year of jubilee, a year of freedom and cancellation of debts. It is the year of forgiveness and reconciliation. A year of peace and total restoration,” Rev Dr Teke said.

He went on to add that: “My vision for the CBC is peace and holistic development...the peace locomotive has taken off and I invite everyone who truly loves peace to jump in and let us travel together. Remember that time is not on our side, and our journey here is very short”.

Christians challenged to withdraw court cases against church

While praying for forgiveness, Rev Dr. Teke John equally appealed to all the Christians who took the church to court, to restrain and come back so that they can resolve all the issues at home.

“I appeal to our brothers who took the CBC, and our leaders to court, please withdraw all the court cases. Let us come back home as a family and resolve our issues,” Rev Dr Teke added.

While thanking the outgoing Executive President for not accepting another mandate for the sake of peace, Rev Dr Teke John said he will continue from where his predecessor ended.

He also said he and his executive will collaborate with the government, and Christians to fly the flag of the CBC higher.

Rev Dr Teke John equally expressed joy over the election of the Vice Chairperson, Sofa Caroline, who hails from the Francophone Region.

According to him, this is a testament that CBC is expanding all over the nation.

Enter outgoing Executive President

On his part, the outgoing Executive President, Rev Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne, who was elected in 2020, and decided not to go in for another mandate, challenged the new Executive to work justly for the church, and fear God, but not man.

Rev Dr. Nditemeh also called on all the Christians, and spouses of the new executive, to support the President and his executive, emphasising that they have a very tough task, which needs both physical and spiritual support.

Rev Dr. Nditemeh Charlemagne concluded the ritual by handing over the President's scarf to Rev Dr. Teke John, and certificates of assumption of duty to the Chairman, Kongor John and Chairperson, Sofa Caroline.
