At visit to Unity Palace: Hon Malomba urges youth to massively back Biya.

Hon Malomba highlighted Biya’s bold economic reforms and leadership attributes, describing him as a visionary leader with political courage and inclusiveness.

The lawmaker representing Buea at the National Assembly, had alongside other youth leaders visited the State House to hand over a support of 40 million FCFA for Biya’s re-election bid.

Of the amount raised by youth across Cameroon, 30 million FCFA is destined for Paul Biya’s caution and 10 million FCFA as advance to support his campaign efforts.

The gesture is a fulfilment of a promise, made by the youth, on February 13, 2025, while celebrating President Biya’s 92nd birthday.

The youth had, during the ceremony, asked President Biya to seek re-election and pledged to support him financially.

The financial support for Biya’s re-election was received by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, who pledged to transmit the position of the youth to President Biya.

Minister Ngoh Ngoh, during the Unity Palace audience, commended the youth for keeping their words and for demonstrating their commitment to Paul Biya’s campaign. He said he would immediately dispatch the money to Jean Nkuete, the Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee.

“When I told the President that the youth will pay the caution for his candidature, he was so delighted. Be assured that he will never lead you down. He believes in you, and he counts on you…” Minister Ngoh Ngoh told the visiting youth.

Biya re-election bid big relief to youth

Meanwhile, Hon Malomba, who spoke to reporters at the close of the audience, described President Biya’s desire to seek re-election as a big relief to the youth of the country.

He told State House reporters that: “It is a big relief for us that the President is going to run for this election as he announced yesterday (Sunday)”.

Hon Malomba, who sits atop the Parliamentary Network on Road Safety, continued that: “As to why we the youth are convinced that he is the man for the job; it is very simple. President Paul Biya represents wisdom in a complex environment. He represents a firm hand in a world which is so volatile and, in an era of fleeting ideas and impulsive politics. He remains the man who guarantees stability for us. So, we the youth wholeheartedly are supporting him”.

President Paul Biya represents stability in uncertainty

In a social media outing shortly after the Unity Palace audience, Hon Malomba, described President Paul Biya as representing stability in uncertainty, wisdom in complexity, and a bridge between the experiences of the past and the dreams of the future.

He then urged “Youth of Cameroon, my sisters and brothers, let us rise above emotion and impulse, and reflect on what Cameroon needs most in these times: a seasoned compass, a unifier-in-chief, and a leader who understands, speaks the language of truth and guarantees stability”.

Prior to Monday’s meeting, Hon Malomba, it should be recalled, had led youth in the South West Region to raise 5 million FCFA for Biya’s campaign.

Thousands of young people from across the South West Region had participated in the rally held Saturday, April 26 in Buea. 

The rally was organised to officially endorse Biya as their candidate of choice for the upcoming October 2025 presidential election. 

During the ceremony, the youth of the region submitted their contribution of 5 million FCFA in support of Biya’s campaign.

The rally was spearheaded by the Regional Organising Committee, made up of a dynamic blend of young Members of Parliament, mayors, regional councilors, traditional authorities, corporate managers, and youth leaders from various political parties. 

Hon. Malomba Esembe, MP for Buea Urban, served as the committee’s spokesperson and praised the youth for taking ownership of the country’s future.

The event drew a high-profile personalities, including several key government officials and dignitaries including the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Nalova Lyonga, the Governor of the South West Region, Bernard Okalia Bilai, the President of the South West Regional Assembly, alongside other notable figures.
