At 14th Ordinary Session: INJS Board praises Director for sound management of institution.

The Board of Directors of the National Institute of Youth and Sports better known by its French abbreviation INJS, has expressed delight in the way Dr Ebal Minye Edmond is running the institution as Director.

The Board made the appraisal at the end of its 14th Ordinary Session which took place on the school’s campus in Yaounde, Thursday.



The Chairperson of the Board, Adoum Garoua, presided the session. The Director of INJS, Dr Ebal Minye Edmond, and the Deputy Director, Wadoum Fofou Chamberlain, attended the session.

Adoum Garoua asked the Board members to report to their respective hierarchies the good work of the Dr Ebal Minye-led management.

While saluting the Director of the INJS for a job well done, Adoum Garoua instructed him to implement all observations which the Board made.

He asked the Director to ensure new lecturers are up to date with the vision of INJS. 

“You have a duty to share with them your vision and, above all, your performance objectives, so that INJS can align itself with the legislative and regulatory context of the country in order to fulfil the missions assigned to it by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya,” Adoum Garoua said.

Speaking to reporters, INJS Director, Dr Ebal Minye Edmond, said the session focused on examining accounts of the institution and outlining modalities for the functioning of the institution for the year 2024.

He expressed delight that the board examined the accounts and saluted the management of INJS. Dr Ebal Minye disclosed that some resolution relating to the management of staff and materials were also taken during the session and are pending implementation.

Dr Ebal said the Board also made recommendations for the budget of the INJS to be increased next year. The Board, he said, made achieving an increase in budget one of the major priorities of the 2026 financial year. 

On this, the Director said: “We will discuss with our partners the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development”. 

According to him, given the ambitious plan of the institution, they are set exploit other ways to get additional finances. He noted that some staff have been appointed while others will go on retirement and resolutions.

During yesterday’s session, the Board examined INJS administrative account;, INJS management account, INJS materials management account, budget execution control report and INJS performance report for 2024. 

Equally on the agenda was the examination and adoption of a resolution to carry over 2,452,917 FCFA from 2024 to 2025 and the acknowledgement of the admission of some permanent lecturers of INJS on the list of lecturers qualified to be associate Professors. 

The Board also authorised the Director of INJS to proceed with some reforms on assets and sending retired personnel home. He was also authorised to establish a list of staff eligible for retirement benefits in 2026.
