Common Entrance examination: Kumba II DO hails pupils, teachers, parents for high score.

The Divisional Officer, DO, of Kumba Subdivision, Edwin Nkenya Ngwana, has hailed teachers, pupils and parents for the contributing to the Subdivision emerging the best in the entire South West Region in the Common Entrance exams.
Ngwana made the positive remarks shortly after the release of the results of Common Entrance Examination.

He said the tireless efforts of parents to pay the fees of their children, the dedication of teachers amid insecurity and dedication by the education family II municipality contributed to the result.

“Kumba II Subdivision came overall second in the Division and first in terms of quality of results because out of the 62 pupils in honour rolls, 35 of them came from Kumba II,” the DO said.

The DO has called on school administrators not to relent their efforts in maintaining the same steam in the First School Leaving Certificate which is around the corner.

The success story, the DO said, is also thanks to regular meetings held to educate parents on the importance of sending children to school and not abandoning their responsibilities to teachers alone.

Worthy of note is the fact that Kumba II Subdivision became an epic centre of the crisis when in October 2020, gunmen believe to be separatist fighters, stormed the campus of Mother Francisca Bilingual College and killed five students, injuring others.

The sad incident gained international condemnation. Since then, school has slowly picked steam in Kumba II.

Meanwhile, Kumba II municipality did not only perform well in results but did well in the FENASCO League B Games with pupils of the Subdivision emerging top in collective and individual sports, respectively.

It was thanks to the performance of Kumba II athletes that Meme Division emerged top in the entire region in FENASCO League B Games with a percentage of 98.83%.

Worthy of note is that out of 8,108 pupils who registered, 8,034 sat the examination while 7,780 pupils passed in List A and 128 passed in List B making the Division first in the region.
