Yves Nangue Carson: Cameroonian cultural entrepreneur making waves across Africa, beyond.

The rich cultural and artistic heritage of Cameroon is gaining more ground on the continental and global stage thanks to the visionary work of cultural entrepreneur, Yves Nangue Carson.

The ‘culturepreneur’ has not only cemented his name as a trailblazer in Africa's creative scene but continues to amplify the continent’s cultural narratives through bold, inclusive, and innovative initiatives.

The ingenuity and prowess of the cultural entrepreneur of international repute has been gaining recognitions.

He was awarded the Special Jury Prize for Best African Cultural Entrepreneur in December, 2024, at the prestigious Mitindo Fashion Show which held in Kampala, Uganda.

Speaking to The Guardian Post, Nangue described the award as a celebration of his vision and the growing recognition of Miss Africa United, a platform that blends beauty, cultural diplomacy, and empowerment.

The upcoming edition of the pageant is billed for Atlanta, USA, from January 25 to February 7, 2026. The pageant, he noted, is already garnering widespread support across the continent.

East Africa Zone Delegate, Barbara Nakisozi, during the Kampala event, introduced Nangue, underscoring the pageant's Pan-African essence.

“Miss Africa United is more than a pageant. It is a global celebration of African excellence, cultural diversity, and women’s leadership,” Nakisozi said.

Nangue’s influence, it should be said, extends beyond beauty pageants. He recently took the co-producer’s seat for DEAD STAR, a compelling documentary that delves into the trials and tribulations of African film actors.

Tackling themes such as fame, social pressure, industry instability, and marginalization, the film aims to shed light on the often-unseen struggles of creative on the continent. Its exclusive premiere is slated for June 2025 in Douala, with a wider release scheduled for July.

Through his platform, Blackstone Entertainment, where he serves as Chief Executive Officer, CEO, and his leadership as President of the International Miss Africa Committee, IMAC, Nangue continues to fuel projects that resonate deeply with African audiences.

His storytelling is not only creative but socially conscious, as seen in his co-production of a documentary honouring the late Cameroonian comedian Mamiton.

According to the entrepreneur, what sets him apart is his ability to merge cultural pride with entrepreneurial drive, crafting initiatives that are both impactful and globally resonant.
