Premier League: Mbeumo wins Brentford Goal of the Season.

Cameroon international striker, Bryan Mbeumo, has achieved another milestone in his career after he won the Goal of the Season for his club, Brentford.

The Indomitable Lions star player received the distinction on Tuesday May 20.

This was during a ceremony to recognise the best performances of the 2024/2025 season. Bryan Mbeumo's impressive opener against Tottenham Hotspur in September was voted the Goal of the Season.

Mbeumo volleyed the Bees in front inside the first 30 seconds following a Keane Lewis-Potter cross from the left wing. It was Mbeumo's fourth goal of the campaign at that stage.

It was second in weeks that the west Londoners had scored inside a minute, with Yoane Wissa netting early against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium a week earlier.

Seven days after Mbeumo's goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a 3-1 defeat, he also volleyed in against West Ham United at Gtech Community Stadium, again inside a minute, to set a new Premier League record.

Reacting to the Goal of the Season award, Mbeumo explained that before the game, he was already looking forward to scoring early.

He said "it was a great cross from Keane and a great goal".

On his 2024/25 season so far, Mbeumo said: "I'm always someone who says that they want to do better than they've done before, and that's what I've done, so I'm really happy with it".

With one game to play, the Cameroon international has set a new club record for the most goal participations in a Premier League campaign. Mbeumo has recorded a total of 26 contributions this season with 19 goals and seven assists.

He overtakes Ivan Toney who held that record with 24 goal contributions from the 2022/2023 season. The award is a worthy recognition for Mbeumo's contributions to the success of Brentford this season.

Mbeumo is the joint highest goal-scorer for Brentford this season and second-best assists record with seven, three behind Mikkel Damsgaard.

Mbeumo is a product of ES Troyes Academy.

He began his professional senior career in 2018.

He was transferred to Brentford in 2019 and was a member of the squad which gained promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
