Brigadier General Eba Eba: Second Joint Military Region Commander

A majority of people in the Second Joint Military Region covering the Littoral and South West Regions have saluted what they say is the bravery of Brigadier General Eba Eba Bede Benoit, in commanding troops during National Day celebration in Yaounde.



Brigadier General Eba Eba was selected by the Head of State, Paul Biya, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to command troops during the 53rd National Day on May 20.

Since after the event, admirers have been saluting Brigadier General Eba Eba who is Commander of the Second Military Region, for effectively performing the duty of the day in the presence of President Biya and thousands of guests.

Many say, Brigadier General Eba Eba has once more shown his love for fatherland and loyalty to the institutions of the State. Others have been using the honour given the military official to command troops on May 20 to recall his exploits across the nation.

Many are recalling that it was under Brigadier General Eba Eba that several separatist kingpins have been neutralised by the security and defense forces in the South West Region.

They have been citing names such as; self-styled Field Marshal of Lebialem, Ekeku of Dienyi, 10 Kobo of Ndian, Ajabi of Mambanda among others who were once a hindrance to public peace and order.

In addition to these are several others who have dropped arms in line with the appeal of the Head of State and are getting trained at Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration, DDR Centres.

Brigadier General Eba Eba is also being praised to ensuring the effective presence of troops on the field to protect the population and property from separatist attacks.

 

The man Brigadier General Eba Eba 

Born some 66 years ago, Brigadier General Bede Benoit Eba Eba studied military aviation in Cameroon, France and China. The Commander of the Second Joint Military Region with headquarters in Douala is a revered fighter pilot. He is the first in that category to have led troops on national day in front of the Head of State.

Air Commodore Eba Eba has held several top rankings positions in the Cameroonian army. He has been Commander of the Second Joint Military Region since December 5th, 2019. He was raised to the rank of Air Commodore on June 29, 2017.

He previously served as Commander of the 101 Airbase in Yaounde, Commander of the Garoua Pilot Training Center, second in command of the Garoua 301 Airbase, Deputy Chief of Command and Staff courses in Yaounde, Second in Command of the Operation Division at the Airbase. He was also Fight Squadron Commander of the 101 Airbase in Yaounde.
