National Day in Nguti: Thousands grace celebration signaling return of peace, normalcy.

Thousands of an enthusiastic crowd within the municipality of Nguti and beyond took part in this year's National Day celebration in Nguti Subdivision, Kupe-Muanenguba Division of the South West Region.

The event was presided over by the Divisional Officer, DO, of Nguti, Kevin Etengeneng Oben, who thanked the population of Nguti, especially the external elite for the mobilisation.



“The massive turnout is also thanks to our foremost elite, Okie Johnson Ndoh, due to his enormous contribution for the success of the day...We do not forget the Member of Parliament, the Mayor and the CPDM Section President, who all contributed positively for the event…,” Etengeneng said.

The National Day celebration in Nguti, which started with a unity walk on the streets of Nguti also help to raise awareness of the population on their civic responsibility and sense of belonging. 

During the exercise, the Divisional Officer appealed to the consciences of the population across the Subdivision to give their maximum support and collaboration for the success of the event. Then there was a clean-up exercise across the town to pave the way for the celebration proper.

The town of Nguti was given a facelift ushering in peaceful celebration. The march past was led by the national gendarmerie, followed by the officers of the police force.

The civilian march past was opened by a group of selected young people with messages of national unity and love for country. Then students of government primary schools and secondary schools, mission schools and the lay private schools across the Subdivision. Then political parties took their turns.

Sociocultural activities then took center stage amongst others include a cultural display from different dance group and schools. The winners of the unity football encounter between the forces of law and order and motorbike riders and meritorious teams and individuals of the cross country race received prizes.

Enter CPDM Kupe-Muanenguba II section president 

Speaking to reporters after the ceremony, the section president of CPDM Kupe-Muanueguba II section, Ajang Evaristus, thanked supporters of all the three wings of the party for their massive mobilisation and participation in the march past.

He said this is telling of their love and attachment to the great party and the valours its national president, Paul Biya, incarnates. Ajang called on the party supporters to continue encouraging others to join the folds of the CPDM.

“You are all aware of future elections in Cameroon and we all must work hard in giving a resounding victory to our national president, Paul Biya…,” he urged party supporters

The section president further narrated the numerous development projects that have come to Nguti Subdivision, notably the imposing tradex filling station, the IRAD centre, a detachment of the sixth Rapid Intervention Battalion, BIR, to protect the population of Nguti and beyond, the numerous donations by the Member of Parliament for Kupe Muanenguba II constituency Nguti, Hon Dr Fonge Julius Fongouck, amongst others. 

He noted that all these from the President of the Republic is thanks to the strong attachment the party supporters have shown in the affairs of the CPDM, thus they must continue in the same spirit of working towards peace and prosperity. 

On his part, the Member of Parliament for Kupe Muanenguba II constituency Nguti, Hon Dr Fonge Julius Fongouck, congratulated Nguti sons and daughters for their massive turnout and participation at the National Day event. The MP donated medical equipment worth millions of FCFA to different health facilities across the Subdivision.
