About Janvier Litse’s book

Speaking during the audience, Janvier Litse disclosed that having worked at the World Bank in Washington and at the African Development Bank in Abidjan for over thirty years, the book carries a strong messge which every individual should follow to be great.

“It is a book for youth who will hopefully be inspired by what is in the book and who will use it to top up their own professional life. In my view, it is also good for African civil servants who deal on a daily basis with these international organisations,” the author said.

Janvier Litse said the book could also help the population to organise their views, negotiate better and also make sure that the resources provided by these institutions are used for the betterment of the population that they serve.

He added that the book can serve as a reference for African youth who have the intention or the ambition to follow his career path as an economist at the African Development Bank and an external debt specialist at the World Bank.

“The book is about my experience in these institutions, what I have been able to experience, and what could eventually serve as a basis for those who would like to embrace this function or this professional experience,” he stated.

He explained that the title of the book is inspired by his experience not just in Cameroon but Africa as a whole.

“My experience in Africa goes from North Africa to South Africa, from East Africa to West Africa, and so in this book, there is a summary of what I have been able to experience in certain countries in the continent, with a few Heads of State and their approach to development,” Janvier Litse said.

The author said he intends to embark on a campus-to-campus tour in Cameroon and Africa whenever possible to present insights about the book and its benefits to society as temporary refence for the future.

“It is partly an autobiographical work about my stay in Cameroon, the life of an educator who lived in Cameroon, and it is something that is going to evolve with time. The truth today may not be the truth tomorrow. So, today we will use it as temporary reference for the future,” he said.

Expressing hope of becoming international through the book, Janvier said the publication “is very interesting”.

“I would like to introduce it to you in the hope of becoming an international official in the hope of going around the world,” he stated.
