Pamol management rewards outstanding workers.

Rewarded workers in group picture with Pamol management

The General Manager of Pamol Plantations Plc, Mbile Tapea Solomon, has rewarded some 35 outstanding workers of the agro-industrial company for their resilience and commitment to duties.

This was on May 2, 2025, during a ceremony which took place at the Bulu Mill, in Ndian Estate of the company.

The meritorious workers, drawn from the different estates of the company, included cutters, drivers, electricians and those engaged in manual labour. The ceremony was part of activities to mark this year’s Labour Day.

Speaking during the event, the General Manager of Pamol, Mbile Tapea Solomon, who was accompanied by the Deputy General Manager, Donatus Asu, and other top management staff, expounded on the success story of the company and the increase in crop production.

"It’s a tradition for us to encourage and reward our workers every year. Those who receive the award are doing great…we know others are also working hard," he explained.

"We are doing our best for the company to be back on the rails. We are ensuring that staff’s social benefits are regulated, ensuing regular payment of salaries and improved health facilities," he stated.

Mbile Tapea added that: "Our manpower has increased from 300 to close to 4,000, and we are gradually calling back some workers and recruiting young ones".

It was also disclosed the Pamol management has equally embarked on a project for a modern mill in Bulu and Lobe.

Addressing the workers, Mbile said "…we are aware how you people are struggling with the machines in place, but we are making efforts to see them be in modern standards".

Impressive turnout at Labour Day festivities

Meanwhile, earlier on May 1, Pamol personnel turned out en mass to celebrate the 139th edition of the International Labour Day in Mundemba, Ndian Division of the South West Region. The General Manager and his close collaborators were also present at the ceremonial ground.

Reacting to the massive turnout of Pamol personnel the General Manager said it remains a tradition for Pamol workers to take part in Labour Day activities, to communion amongst themselves and chart the way forward.

He expressed gratitude as calm continues to reign in the various estates of the company. Pamol Plantations Plc, it should be recalled, was hard-hit with violence following the socio-political crisis with workers killed and others maimed.

Remarkable achievements of Mbile Tapea

However, since taking over the reins of the company as General Manager, Mbile Tapea Solomon has been turning around the tides and putting the company back on track. He has rolled out measures which are seeing the worker’s condition being improved.

To encourage hard work within the staff of the corporation, the General Manager has been recognising meritorious workers by motivating them. In the past some of the workers had been rewarded with motorbikes and motivational packages.

Within his tenure of office as General Manager, some of the palpable achievements Mbile Tapea Solomon include regular and prompt payment of salaries, Consistent payment of CNPS dues of workers, increased in production, aggressive smallholder scheme policy adopted, proper execution of corporation’s budget, admirable corporate social responsibility.

The health of the company’s workers has also been prioritised with the corporation ensuring that hospitals are properly equipped and provided with drugs to ensure that not only PAMOL workers and their dependents have access to medicine and better healthcare, but also those in adjacent communities.
