H.E. Philip Ngole Ngwese: Cameroon’s High Commissioner to Canada

Cameroon’s High Commission to Canada, and Cameroonian students in the country, have showcased Cameroon’s cultures, traditions and cuisines.

This was recently during the 27th Annual 'Celebration of Cultures' event that took place at the Algonquin College campus in Ottawa.

The Cameroon High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Philip Ngole Ngwese, was among more than 27 High Commissioners and Embassy Representatives from other countries that took part at the event.

The 'Celebration of Cultures', as the event is known, allows students from over 25 countries to experience the uniqueness of different cultures, traditions and cuisines from other places around the world displayed in a single environment.

It's an occasion for students to promote the cross-cultural understanding and appreciation of one another. The Algonquin Campus event that holds annually, equally brings together participating Diplomatic Missions with the aim to equally showcase the cultures of their different countries.

Participating at this year's event, the Cameroon High Commission presented various art objects and artifacts from the various parts of Cameroon. It presented various varieties of Cameroonian meals.

During the culture-packed event, officials from the Cameroon High Commission used the opportunity to also present to visitors the varied and unique tourism opportunities that make Cameroon a choice destination for tourists.

They equally used the occasion to sell Cameroon’s cultural diversity and "living together", which has become a hallmark of Cameroon that has made the country to be equally referred to as “Africa in Miniature”.

The cultural exhibitions, art works, cuisines and others were displayed to visitor’s view and appreciation on a variety of stands at the event grounds.

Hundreds of people who visited Cameroon’s stand had a field day on the variety of the country's cuisines, artifacts and a lot more. They also took away flyers about Cameroon as souvenirs.

It should be noted that the celebration of this yearly event at the Algonquin College in Ottawa, Canada, gives both the students, staff and participating diplomatic Missions a wide array of knowledge about other countries and, indeed, reinforces that spirit of inclusion for all in a diverse community as in Canada.

The Algonquin event is also one that makes students from other countries and backgrounds to feel welcome and valued as well.

Cameroon's esteemed participation at the 27th Annual Celebration of Cultures at the Algonquin College was under the personal directives of Cameroon's High Commissioner to Canada, H.E. Ngole Philip Ngwese. He has made it as one of his major duties to promote Cameroon's image through cultural and other events.
