President Emmerson Dambudo Mnangagwa & Apostle John Chi

Cameroonian global preacher, Senior Apostle John Chi, has held talks with the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa.

The Zimbabwean leader received Senior Apostle John Chi in audience, after a two-day crusade, which the preacher organised at the City Sports Centre in Harare. The crusade took place on October 18 and 19, 2024.

The two-day crusade was tagged: “Heal our Land Zimbabwe”.  It also had in attendance Christians and pastors from across other African countries such as Botswana and South Africa.

Besides ministering and healing thousands, Senior Apostle John Chi, during the Zimbabwe expedition also held a Ministers’ Conference that had an estimated 2,000 pastors from across Africa, in attendance.

He led prayers for the continent of Africa and Zimbabwe in particular. At the end of the exercises, the renowned preacher had time to exchange with leaders of the host country.

To note that other prominent figures in Zimbabwe attended the crusade.

Among them were the ruling ZANU PF party’s Director for Economic Affairs, Hon Anastancia Ndhlovu; Former Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Maidei Mpala, Senator Alice Ncube, Hon Nkomo, Hon Ruth Labode and embassy officials among others.

Speaking after his courtesy visit to the President of Zimbabwe, Apostle John Chi, said: "I would like to commend the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s dedication to the path of peace, which is guiding the country to prosperity, anchored on love and national cohesion. He is indeed a torch bearer and a shining example for the people of Zimbabwe. May the Lord continue to inspire and direct him”.

Apostle John Chi on Zimbabwe’s transformative journey

Besides praying for an end to struggles and other challenges facing the people, Senior Apostle John Chi saluted the transformation ongoing in Zimbabwe, under the leadership of Emmerson Mnangagwa.

With the country targeting to become an upper-middle-income nation by 2030, Senior Apostle John Chi prayed for strength and wisdom for President Mnangagwa. He also commended President Mnangagwa’s “dedication to the path of peace and prayers, which are guiding the country to prosperity, anchored on love and national cohesion”.

Senior Apostle John Chi further described President Mnangagwa as “...a torch bearer and a shining example for the people of Zimbabwe,” before praying God to “continue to inspire and direct him”.

Before now, he had told thousands of worshippers that: “I am not only here to pray for the sick or to deliver the oppressed…I am also here to share with fellow servants of God, leaders and the people of Zimbabwe as a whole, what God has given me”.

Urges Africans to prayer for leaders

He had also used the Zimbabwean crusade to appeal to Africans, especially the clergy, to pray for those in authority.

“Zimbabwe is a nation after God’s heart. Nothing makes us love our nation, our continent, and our leaders as much as praying for them,” he remarked, explaining that the crusade was for “Men and Women of God to come together and rededicate us, our leaders, our nations, our lands and our continent back to God”.

Senior Apostle John Chi expressed delight and thanked God for giving him and others the strength to obey His instructions. He restated that he was in Zimbabwe to also “pray for the nation. As commanded by God in the Bible; children of God are mandated to pray for their leaders”.

He reminded Christians that: “As my mentor and father, the late Senior Prophet TB Joshua always said, the concept of Christianity and good citizenship are inseparable. They both are synonymous. Whatever makes you a good Christian makes you a good citizen”.
