Mayor rallies staff to boost schooling in Eyumojock municipality.

The Mayor of Eyumojock Council in Manyu Division of the South West Region, Ntufam Ayamba Jacques Ita, has rallied staff to boost schooling across the council area. Mayor Ntufam Ayamba staged the operation recently.

He and council workers visited some primary schools across his municipality to encourage learners, pledging to support stakeholders guarantee the future of children.

Speaking on the campus of Government Nursery and Primary School, GNPS Eyumojock, the mayor said he and the council staff opted to dress in school uniforms to boost the morale of learners.

He offered didactics and cash to school authorities to ensure the children get the best for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Ntufam Ayamba stated that irrespective of the crisis that has slowed activities in the North West and South West Regions, “…Eyumojock has been scoring 100% in all public examinations organised by the government reason the belligerents of this crisis should not drag our children into the mess".

The appealed to parents and guardians across Eyumojock municipality to ensure every child returns to the school.

Children, he said, are the future of Cameroon and deserve every form of support to acquire education to be able to better serve when the time comes.

With his sash straddled over the uniform he was putting on, the mayor encouraged children to come to school regularly. He also advised the schoolchildren to also respect basic hygiene practices and focus on studies to actualize their dreams.

The tour was also an opportunity for the mayor who is also traditional ruler of Eyumojock to appeal to the people of the over 65 villages that make up Eyumojock Subdivision to uphold peace. He announced that other field visits to will be carried out in other villages to ensure peace reigns and children go to school.

Eyoumojock municipality as detailed by Mayor Ntufam Ayamba has remained resilient in the face of security challenges associated with the crisis in the two English-speaking Regions.

He said the over 80,000 inhabitants of the Subdivision mainly earn a living thanks to agriculture.

The Subdivision’s location on the border with the neighbouring Federal Republic of Nigeria, the mayor said, also comes with additional security constraints.

Mayor Ayamba also expressed delight that, his municipality is a harbinger for the promotion of bilingualism and living together which are very dear to the Head of State, Paul Biya.
