Minister Mbah Acha commends Mbengwi Fon for becoming lawyer.

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit Office, Mbah Acha née Fomundam Rose Ngwari, has hailed the Fon of Mbengwi, HRM Fon Njokem Adino Awah III, for becoming a pupil lawyer.



She was speaking Friday September 20, during a ceremony organised to celebrate the traditional ruler, after he was sworn-in as an advocate-in-training. 

Fon Njokem III of Mbengwi was among 738 pupil advocates who took the oath at the Mfoundi High Court in Yaounde.

Minister Mbah Acha, during the event expressed, joy with the way the Mbengwi community and its elite have always mobilised and rallied behind their Fon.

“I am very happy with the support we all are giving to our father, the Fon of Mbengwi. We thank him for always making us proud academically…we must continue giving him our support,” the Minister Mbah Acha said.

The member of government and elite of Momo Division, further lauded Fon Njokem for the career path he has chosen, which she said requires courage and hard work. 

Minister Mbah Acha added that the legal profession also commands admiration, as it is considered a noble profession. 

“As a seasoned magistrate for over 25 years before becoming a minister, I must inform him that he has chosen a very good profession that commands a lot of respect and studying. My doors remain open to you for any support you need in the course of your training,” Minister Mbah Acha stated.

 

Fon Njokem assures subjects

Speaking during the event, HRM Fon Njokem III expressed gratitude to the people of Mbengwi and its elite for the maximum support they have continuously given him.

“As the Fon of the Subdivisional headquarters and headquarters of the Momo Division, I want my people to be assured and confident that they have a good leader who understands contemporary society and can stand the test of time,” the Fon said.

He added that: “As a traditional ruler with an informed legal mind, I can better understand and solve the problems of my population. Asides the imposing office regalia of a lawyer, I am dedicated and committed to be ready and available when duty calls”.

Fon Njokem: Advocate of peace, justice

Speaking to The Guardian Post, Fon Njokem III revealed that he chose the legal profession due to his desire to fight for peace and justice.

“A lawyer fights for justice, which is the foundation of peace. Lawyers use their legal expertise when opportunities come to defend the vulnerable, marginalised persons and victims of injustice,” Fon Njokem III stated.

He added that he equally decided to join the legal profession “because I want to be relevant in any society, I find myself ”.

Fon Njokem III is currently a Masters student in International Law at the University of Yaounde II, Soa, where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in English Law.

The Fon did his primary education in Government School Wumtoh, a village in Mbengwi. He then moved to Government Bilingual High School, GBHS Mbengwi, and the Cameroon Protestant College, CPC Bali, for secondary education.

Before embarking on the legal path, Fon Njokem III had obtained a Teachers’ Grade One Certificate at the Government Teachers’ Training College, GTTC Mbengwi.
