Press release: Fibre optic cuts: disruption to calls and instability of internet on 24 September 2024 at 2.15pm.

Orange Cameroon would like to inform its customers that due to a number of fibre optic cuts, since 24 September 2024 at 2.15pm, we have been experiencing significant disruption to calls and instability of the internet service.

Multiple interruptions on the fibre optic backbones between Douala and Yaoundé are currently hampering the operation of voice and data equipment in the two cities and in other regions of the country.

Our technical teams, in support of those of the supplier of the fibre optic transmission links, CAMTEL, are working towards a rapid restoration. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
