The Management of leading Yaounde-based higher institution, the Higher Institute for Professionalism and Excellence, HIPTEX, have said the establishment is set to transform learning experience for Cameroonian youth with its innovative and student-centred approach to education.

Disclosing this at a press conference held Wednesday, the Managing Director of HIPTEX, Dr Kebuya Nathaniel Nganchi, who spoke to newsmen, said his institution came into the educational sector to make a difference, create a practical experience in service delivery to students of the institution.

Speaking at the presser which came on the heels of what has now emerged to be clearly misinformation on the supposed suspension of the higher institute, the Managing Director, unveiled the institution’s state-of-the-art facilities, cutting-edge technology, and innovative learning tools, demonstrating its commitment to providing a world-class education that prepares students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

The institution, located in the Yaounde-Mbalgong neighbourhood, offers a unique learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and critical thinking for students.

With a focus on academic rigor and excellence, the institution prepares students to be work-ready and consistently achieve high grades.

According to the Managing Director, HIPTEX’s commitment to innovation is evident in its curriculum, which includes programmes in Education, Engineering and Technology, Project Management, Banking and Finance, Medical Laboratory amongst others.

Speaking to reporters at the press conference which came days after rumours circulated that HIPTEX had been suspended, the Managing Director explained that it is a piece of misinformation which needed clarification. He said indeed a staff, not the institution, was suspended by government.

"We want to call on the public to be aware that there is a current misinformation going on that HIPTEX has been suspended,” he said stating that: “I want to reiterate that HIPTEX was not suspended. But a staff member was suspended for being involved in falsification of transcripts for three students. So, the school was not suspended but the member of Staff".

Boasting of the reliability of the institution, Dr Kebuya disclosed to reporters that the Ministry of Vocational Training just recently approved more training offers for the school.

He said: "The Ministry of Vocational training has approved some vocational training disciplines in our Institution such as in Nursing assistant, Building and construction, electricity, web master and many others”.

Conscious of the difficult economic context of the country, Dr Kebuya said HIPTEX has taken steps to ensure affordability of its tuition fees. He said the school hasn’t only made fees affordable but also very flexible in payment.

"We are one of the cheapest in terms of fees. Our fees range from 200,000 FCFA for level one and 320,000 FCFA for HND and Degree and from 500,000 FCFA to 580,000 FCFA for Masters,” the Managing Director said, adding that the fees is paid in five installments.

He disclosed that: “We know we have IDPs who are facing difficulties, so we give them the latitude to pay in five installments".

"We also have scholarship schemes available. Many students have been applying and benefiting from the scheme. The scholarship ranges from 50,000 FCFA to 200,000 FCFA with the help of our partners home and abroad," Dr Kebuya said.

HIPTEX, it should be said, runs two campuses in Yaounde.

While the main campus is situated in the Mbalgong neighborhood, on the outskirts of Yaounde, another is located at the Emana neighborhood.

The school offers training in over 25 fields including Nursing, Midwifery, Medical laboratory technician, Human Resource management, transport and logistics, science of Education, social works and fashion designing amongst others.
