Project of high impact to population

Speaking on behalf of his peers, Hon Njingum Musa also called on the population of the Region to get involved in the realisation of the project.

He added that the project will help communities and the entire Region to stop the transportation of gas from Bafoussam, which is over 80km, to the North West Region.

"I want to congratulate the Director General of CSPH for what we have observed here. It is marvelous. We are very convinced that this gas plant is going to help the Region. This gas plant is something that is going to improve on the lives of the people. As people who control government actions, we took the initiative to come and see ourselves...,†Hon Njingum Musa said.

For his part, the Director General of CSPH added that as soon as the project comes to fruition, there will be high quality and quantity of gas in the entire Region at normal price.

"Taking into consideration that gas is consumed by everybody, we have a homologated price of 6,500 FCFA. We will make sure that at this centre, gas is sold at 6,500 FCFA. The North West Region will be able to have quality gas, which will be available all the time," Okie Johnson assured.

While calling on the population of the Region to embrace the project, Okie Johnson added that it is their wish that most workers of the centre should come from the North West Region.

Okie also urged administrators and students of the University of Bamenda to seize the opportunity and come in for internships, voluntary and employment opportunities, as soon as the centre goes operational.

The visit by North West CPDM MPs at the gas plant project site, ended with a declaration of motion of support to President Paul Biya, and a back-to-school message to parents and education stakeholders in the North West Region .

The message, read by Hon Njingum Musa, on behalf of his peers, called on parents, students and education stakeholders of the Region to shun boycott messages by separatists and make the 2024/25 academic year a huge success.
