Yaounde: Business magnate, Bienvenu Lonkeu, conferred Grand Notable title in Etoudi.

This was in the presence of some traditional rulers from the Centre, Littoral and West regions.  

Aside the title of Grand Notable, the native of Bazou in the Nde Division of the West Region was handed a certificate of Traditional Excellence, as a sign of recognition for his multiple achievements and social actions within the Mfoundi Division.

Bienvenu Lonkeu Njouboussi who has been residing in Yaounde for over two decades now, has impacted several lives through the projects carried out and trainings as well as employment opportunities offered young people.

On the decision to confer on Bienvenu Lonkeu the Grand Notable title, the Chief of Mballa 3B said, it is a result of his actions in her chiefdom.

She mentioned that the construction of a Etoudi Commercial Modern Complex through a Public-Private partnership by Welcome Constructions and Services Company Sarl, WCSC Sarl, a construction company owned by Bienvenu Lonkeu.

The traditional ruler said the structure has not only changed the face of the locality but has also offered an opportunity for the youth of the area to be part of it and make some revenue. The project which is near completion is providing 1,500 direct and 800 indirect jobs.

Speaking at the occasion, Chief Henriette Mintounou, said: “We celebrate a man who does good for the people of Etoudi. This distinction symbolises recognition of the greatness of man who does good for an entire people. The man who came to enlighten the people of Etoudi thanks to the commercial complex built here”. 

She added that: “...this is the pride of my people in general and myslef in particular. This is why for which I have decided to recognise him”.

Lonkeu Njouboussi says grateful 

In his acceptance speech, the business mogul said he was humbled and grateful for the recognition.

“I thank the people of Etoudi for honouring me. It is for me a great joy and an immense pleasure and I appreciate this excellent integration. I am a fulfilled man. It’s encouraging to be rewarded for the work you do every day,” the Etoudi Grand Notable said. 

He went on to add that: “It’s a motivation that will enable me to move forward, so that together we can build our country and for peace to reign”. 

According to Bienvenu Lonkeu, such a recognition highlights the dynamism of Cameroon’s cultures and the need to promote living together as preached by the Head of the State, President Paul Biya.

“It helps to strengthen ties of cooperation, fraternity, love, solidarity and hospitality, solidarity, hospitality and social cohesion...,” he said.

Lonkeu the man, entrepreneur, politician...

Born in May 5, 1966, in Bazou, Nde Division of the West Region, Lonkeu delved into business and entrepreneurship at a very young age. 

The man who has spent a greater part of life in Yaounde, has grown to become one of the most prominent figures in the domain of construction of infrastructure in the country’s capital city.

In 2006, he founded SODIREC Sarl, an enterprise specialised in the construction of buildings. He is also founder and Chief Executive Officer of byWelcome Constructions and Services Company, WCSC Sarl which he created in 2013.

His construction companies have been involved in the studies and construction of structures in the Yaounde. These include the Ekounou Commercial Modern Market, Etoudi Commercial Modern Market. 

Other markets in the country where the services of Bienvenu Lonkeu’s companies have been solicited for studies and construction over the years are Yaounde Central Market, Mokolo Market, Congo & Bonamoussadi markets in Douala and the Bonangoh market in Nkongsamba.

He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts and also represents several national and international companies.

In the political domain, Lonkeu Njouboussi is a staunch supporter of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM party. He is currently the CPDM Mfoundi 14C subsection president. 

He has held key positions of responsibilities within the party and has also put in enormous financial contributions for the growth of the party.
