Germany-based Cameroonian singer presents concert project to culture minister.

Antoine Christian Akoa speaking during audience

Germany-based Cameroonian opera singer, Antoine Christian Akoa, has presented his concert project to the Minister of Arts and Culture, Bidoung Mkpatt.

This was recently during an audience granted him at the Conviviality Hall of the National Museum by the member of government.

The audience was an occasion for the song writer and vocal trainer to present his next concert project to the minister. The concert, he said, will hold on July 18, 2025 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

Christian Nkoa, during the audience, revealed that his inspiration of opera music as a Cameroonian was drawn from hits like Bikutsi, Makossa and many others.

He also acknowledged the influence of some Cameroonian artistes like Manu Dibango in his career choice. Regarding the 2025 concert, the artiste noted that he will be coming with two orchestras.

“One would be singing on Cameroonian rhythms which I believe every Cameroonian would appreciate and the other on Cameroon and Germany cultural jamboree,” he said.

The opera singer believes that music is first of all a cultural reality before being a song, arts, melody or rhythm.

According to the singer, this combination will be bringing together two cultures of Africa and Europe. To make it a reality, he plans on bringing together musicians from Cameroon and Germany during the concert.

The concert, he said, will serve as a platform for him to share and showcase the culture of Cameroon and Germany.

Speaking during the audience, Minister Bidoung Mkpatt hailed the Cameroonian national for being a dynamic compatriot and using his talent to promote the rich culture of the country at the international level.

The member of government equally made known the availability of the technical team of his ministry to ensure the good planning of the event.
