Pregnant women, biker die in Yaounde road crash.

Bewildered population at accident scene

A pregnant woman and a commercial bike rider are reported to have died in a road crash at the Odza neighbourhood in Yaounde at sunrise Monday August 26.

The accident is said to be the result of a collision between a taxi and a motorcycle.



The deceased were said to be on the commercial motorcycle when the accident occurred. 

While the pregnant woman was yet to be identified, the bike rider is said to have been identified only as Clifford.

Other accounts old that the third person who was also on the commercial bike as at the time of the accident survived. The survivor is said to be the wife of the bike rider who perished in the accident.

The concerned were said to be returning from a meeting before being involved in the meeting. 

Sources hold that the driver of the cab was drunk and driving recklessly resulting in the fatalities. The corpses are said to have been transported to the Biyem-Assi Hospital Mortuary while the survivor was admitted at the Biyem-Assi Hospital for treatment.

The Guardian Post gathered that acquaintances of the deceased bike rider in the Mendong neighbourhood are also said to have stormed the Biyem-Assi Hospital to come to terms with the happenstance.

Some sources revealed that the deceased bike rider was a native of Bamunka village in Ndop Subdivision, Ngokentunjia Division of the North West Region. 

To note that the incident comes after another accident in which a truck crushed a biker and his passenger to death in the Etoudi neighbourhood in Yaounde, sparking outrage. The incident was not unconnected to municipal police agents on patrol.
