Far North: 32-yr-old woman gives birth to quadruplets, calls for help.

Joyful mother of quadruplets with Minister Manaouda Malachie

A 32-year-old woman, known as Maiwong, has given birth to a set of quadruplets in a local health centre in Bardouki in the Mayo Kani Division of Far North Region.

The quadruplets, all boys, and the mother were rushed to the Maroua Regional Hospital for further care following instructions from the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie.

The mother of the quadruplets has appealed to persons of goodwill to come to her aid.

"I am still struggling to make ends meet. My husband as well. We will not be able to take care of these babies just by ourselves," said the mother of the four babies.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Health, Dr Manaouda Malachie, has said government will take care of the hospital bills.

"When I heard the news, I was happy. I have seen the children and the mother. She gave birth normally. I want to reiterate that the government will take care of the bills until when they are discharged from the hospital. The healthcare system is for all,” the minister said.

Mother and the children, currently still in the hospital, are said to be fine. Two of the children weigh 900 grams each, while one other weighs 1.1 kilogramme. Another weighs 1.2 kilogramme.

Measures have been taken at the neonatal service of the Maroua Regional Hospital to ensure the quadruplets are well taken care of.
