The Member of Parliament, MP, for Upper Bayang and Mamfe Central Constituency, Hon Dr Agbortogo Ebangha Johanah epse AgborNtui, has sensitised the population of Upper Bayang Subdivision in Manyu Division of the South West Region on effective schooling.

The lawmaker staged the sensitisation campaign during a meeting with the population at the Tinto Subdivision. This was on Saturday August 17.

The event took place in the presence of the Divisional Officer, DO, of Upper Bayang Subdivision, Fongoung Amadou; the Mayor of Tinto Council, Sesseku Etchu Joseph Eyong; the Divisional charge de mission of the ruling CPDM for Manyu, Enoh Chris Oben; and the enthusiastic population of Upper Bayang.

The MP urged the parents, students and pupils who turned out at the event to ensure schooling becomes effective in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Hon Agbortogo promised to pay the fees and registration of the first 25 pupils and students in all schools across Tinto Subdivision.

The compassionate MP, reminded the population that if not of education, she would not have been whom she is today. On this score, she told the people that Upper Bayang Subdivision is blessed with enormous human resources serving the nation in different capacities thanks to education.

That legacy of scholarisation, Hon Abgortogo stated, is what she is working hard to keep alive by ensuring that everyone goes to school.

Besides education, the MP also assured the people of Upper Bayang that she would continue to lobby for meaningful development projects to improve their living conditions.

She mentioned the completion of works on the Bakebe-Bachou stretched of the Kumba-Mamfe Road, the Bakebe-Tinto-Dschang-Fontem Road as being among her priorities.

The stretches, she said, will cut across most villages in the Subdivision and spur development when tarred. She promised to work with other elite under the banner of the Upper Bayang Development Association, UBADA, to also boost development.

Meanwhile, in the days ahead, she is expected to storm Mamfe Central Subdivision with the same message.
