As digitalisation drive gains steam: CCA Bank records 43,000 new accounts within one year.

The digitalisation project of the commercial bank, Credit Communautaire d’Afrique, CCA Bank, has produced positive results beyond the expectations of management within one year.

The bank’s report showed that in 2023, some 43,679 new customers opened accounts with the financial institution.

Reacting to the development, the General Manager, GM, of CCA Bank, Marguerite Fonkwen Atangana, said the achievement is just a tip of the iceberg.

She divulged that deposits or savings as at end of year in review stood at 518.5 billion FCFA; representing a hike of 26.03%, as compared to the 2022 business year.

The GM also said, gross transactional revenues stood at 647.03 billion FCFA; representing a rise of 27.1%, compared to the 2022 financial year.

Similarly, loans given to customers rose by 24.8%, to stand at 286.3 billion FCFA. The Bank´s net profits rose by 18% compared to the previous year; and stood at 14.1 billion FCFA.

Even more, the bank now boasts of not fewer than 63 cash points dotted all over the country. Through these points, customers are easily served, thereby easing their business transactions.

“These are the fruits of work being done by competent and well-trained personnel,” the General Manager boasted.

Atangana also said the introduction of new digital tools helped to facilitate access to their services irrespective of wherever clients found themselves in the country and in the outside world.

Added to this, she said management´s persistent drive to improve staff-client relations, also resulted in the introduction of varied initiatives to ease problem solving.

“We organised a customer/staff interaction week during which training of workers was finetuned. This programme enabled many of our workers to acquire the competences they needed to be able to give quality service to customers,” Atangana is quoted as having said.

She is also said to have declared that: “Fidelity and customer satisfaction are at the heart of our drive for future growth, not only for the bank, but for its growing crowd of customers”.

The GM is also said to have added that in the face continuous advances in banking technologies, customers also have to continue to update their knowledge in using new tools.

She was corroborated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Albert Nkemla, who posited that Cameroon´s banking sector is becoming increasingly more competitive.

But CCA, Nkemla said, has been able to find a headway in spite of the deep-seated mutations that the sector is experiencing.

Training programmes

The Board Chair went on to disclose that the institution embarked on an extensive training programme during the year in review.

The move, he said, was part of efforts to upgrade performance and reap the fruits of efficient services rendered by a competent team.

Consequently, the Board Chairperson said actions were taken such as reinforcing CCA Bank’s technological infrastructure, so as to improve quality of services delivered to its clientele.

The bank, he said, has also expanded its services to meet the growing needs of customers.

“We invested much in digital banking because we intend to henceforth, offer the fastest, more secure, more efficient and better-quality banking services to our customers,” the CCA Bank management stated.
