For steady political rise, influence: Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah gets another exceptional recognition.

Social Democratic Front, SDF, National Legal Adviser and influential lawyer, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah Calvin, has again earned another exceptional distinction for his steady rise in politics and influence on the life of the people of his native Momo Division of the North West Region and beyond. 



Barrister Ndangoh Tah Calvin who is equally member of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the SDF, is winner of the “Most Pragmatic Politician Award”.

The recognition which adds to a collection of dozens of others he has won in recent years was presented to him in Yaounde, recently.

This time around, it was the Cameroon English Newspaper Language Publishers Association, CENPA, who has knighted Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah.

CENPA members said their assessment is based on his firm consistency in reviving the opposition SDF across Momo Division and engaging in other peaceful initiatives. 

The respected lawyer cum politician was given the recognition during the CENPA award ceremony at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. 

According to the award jury, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tarh Calvin’s latest award is “for his outstanding courage demonstrated through multiform and broad-based grassroots initiatives that have greatly revived the Social Democratic Front, SDF, in Momo Division; despite security challenges”.

Ndangoh Tah, a humble yet versatile and dynamic personality walked to the platform in honour at the historic gathering to receive his award. 

He was also saluted for staying focus on his line of revitalizing his political party at the base in the face of constraints not unconnected to the armed conflict on the North West and South West Regions.

The award of Most Pragmatic Politician to the renowned lawyer passed through several phases. It finally got the approval of a rigid award jury for Barrister Ndangoh Tah to emerge winner. 

Members of the jury comprised celebrated Cameroonian international legal colossus, Batonnier Akere Muna as president.

Senator Nfon Mukete IV, Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw and King of Kumba was secretary of the award jury while Esther Omam, Executive Director of the nonprofit organisation, Reach Out Cameroon and Ngah Christian Mbipgo, CENPA president cum Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian Post, served as members.

 

Nfumfon Barrister Ndangoh says committed to do more

Talking reporters after receiving the distinction, the laureate said it is the product of hard work and promised to do more so as to continue winning distinctions.

The award-winning politician and lawyer also said the recognition is a boost for him to do more and a strong message to his people about the great work on ground across Momo Division. 

Ntumfon Ndangoh Tah insisted that even if some people may pretend not to see what he is doing, the media, which is the watchdog of the society is seeing. 

“If journalists are seeing, they are the eyes of the people. If they can see, then it means I am doing something,” Ndangoh Tah stated.

But he was categorical that the recognitions that have been coming his way in recent times such as that from CENPA is for “the people I am working for”.

He also restated that: “I will like to be among my people. That is why I decided to go back to my constituency where I have to touch the base, feel them, listen to them and understand their plight”.

 

Passion for politics

On the secret behind his unique style of politics, Barrister Ndangoh related the positive developments to his passion for politics. 

“I am a politician, a passionate one for that matter. They don’t surprise me in politics. I am not like some people whom events make politicians. I am a passionate politician and I think that you can do politics nicely so that people should not term politics a dirty game,” he underscored.

 

Synthesis of Ndangoh Tah’s works

Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah has worked extremely hard to earn the mark of a torchbearer and pathfinder for the SDF across Momo Division in a very difficult context. 

With the crisis in the North West and South West Regions, Ndangoh Tah has put his life on the line to demonstrate patriotism and courage in reviving the SDF.

Besides talking to people of all age groups on the need for peace amid threats from separatist fighters, Ndangoh Tah has been consistent in playing the politics of peace. 

Through him, many who had become lukewarm about politics have joined the SDF and enroll on the electoral register in preparation for upcoming elections.

For instance, celebrations to mark the National Youth Day and the National Day this year reached new heights in the Momo Divisional headquarters of Mbengwi for the first time in years. 

The new ground covered is thanks to the persistence of Ndangoh Tah in galvanizing the SDF and the entire population into believing in peace and engaging in republican activities.

Outside politics, Ndangoh Tah has also shown his humanitarian side through the Ndangoh Tah Foundation. He has used the outfit to boost schooling across Momo Division, setting up a library in Mbengwi and sending several disadvantage children back to school among others. 

He is on record as having offered 3,000 books to the Mbengwi Community Library. Ndangoh Tah for many, is a self-made personality and a demonstration that hard work pays.

 

The man Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah

Ndangoh Tah is a native of Mbengwi. He was born May 25, 1980, in Mbengwi. He studied in the University of Buea, earning a degree in Law in 2005. 

He furthered his education at obtained a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Yaoude II, Soa. He was called to the Cameroon Bar in 2008. 

Barrister Ndangoh Tah is the Managing Partner of Etude Maitre Tah. His trappings tell of his roots after being was groomed at the Muna, Muna and Associates Law firm in Yaounde. 

Ndangoh Tah is the National Chairman of the International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigation Professionals, IICFIP for Cameroon. He is also President of the Common Law Lawyers Association in the Centre, South and East regions. He is also the representative [Ntumfon] of the Fon of Mbengwi in the Centre, South and East regions. 

Ndangoh Tah is also notable of Bobwamu village within the Batanga clan in Lobe-Kribi, in the Ocean Division of the South Region.

His expertise in forensics has seen him on special missions in Congo, Rwanda, the Central African Republic, CAR and other nations. He also holds other certifications.

Ndangoh has handled several matters on international businesses relating to Corporate Governance and Compliance, International Due Diligence and Insurance Claims.
