At installation: UB Vice Chancellor tasks directors to be discreet, uphold loyalty.

The Vice Chancellor, VC, of the University of Buea, UB, Prof Horace Ngomo Manga, has tasked new directors of the institution to uphold loyalty to hierarchy and remain discreet in the discharge of their duties.

Prof Horace Ngomo gave the instructions Thursday July 25 while installing the officials into their functions.

The new officials include the pioneer Director of the Higher Teachers Training College, HTTC, Prof Lucy Mande Ayamba epse Ndip; Director of the College of Technology, CoT, Prof Fosung Michael Forzeh; and Director of Student Affairs, Prof Lukong Cornelius Fai.

The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude to the Head of State, Paul Biya, for creating the Higher Teachers Training College in Buea and the appointing a qualified person as its pioneer Director.

He challenged the new directors to ensure the respect for hierarchy, loyalty to the institution and stay guarded in the discharge of their duties. Prof Horace Ngomo also urged them to work towards ensuring “an atmosphere of conviviality for all and sundry”.

To the pioneer Director of HTTC Buea, the Vice Chancellor told her that Cameroonians have high expectations for her to ensure excellence.

He reassured the director that everything has been put in place for the institution to take off effectively.

Prof Horace Ngomo encouraged the Director to ensure that the team she brings on board to work with her exemplifies the values of the University of Buea, UB. She called for the proper scrutiny to ensure students.

After her installation, the pioneer Director of HTTC of the University of Buea, Professor Lucy Ndip, thanked the Head of State for giving her the opportunity to serve. She also promised to serve without reserve.

She promised to ensure that the school meets the expectations of stakeholders. “We will form a team and work together to achieve what is expected of us by the government and the people of Cameroon,” Prof Ndip said, adding that: “We are going to be training teachers who are going to mould youths”.

She also said “we have to be disciplined and instil values in the teachers that will train them in a way that we will be proud of them”. The three new directors were r appointed by a Presidential Decree on 10th July 2024.
