The CENPA Award Night, the first of its kind, has been placed under the distinguished patronage of the Minister of Communication, H.E Rene Emmanuel Sadi.

The epic event will be graced by some of Cameroon’s finest artists and comedians.

Aside vibrating to the rhythm of honour, excellence and gratitude, the gathering, oganisers say, will equally be a platform to strengthen the bonds of camaraderie and unity among Cameroonians and others living within the country.

Award criteria

Speaking as main guest on CRTV’s midday TV news, the President of CENPA, Kristian Ngah Christian, said the initiative is carefully planned to bring on board members who have been dishing out individual awards annually.

The initiative, he said, comes to contradict the practice, whereby, media organs only give awards to other members of society, while ignoring their peers.

“CENPA thinks the time has come to recognise fellow journalists making a mark in the profession”.

No nonsense jury

Ngah said in strict adherence to the virtues of integrity and credibility that are inseparable with Anglo-Saxon norms, members of the CENPA award jury are imminent personalities of national and global influence.

He said the cast of the jury is a reflection of CENPA’s unwavering commitment to build society through merit and hard work.

The CENPA president, who doubles as Publisher/Editor-In-Chief of The Guardian Post, said the award jury has as President, the globally acclaimed lawyer and anti-corruption icon, Barrister Akere Muna, as President.

He said the revered Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw and King of Kumba, is Secretary of the jury, while celebrated peace builder, Esther Omamwho doubles as Executive Director of nonprofit organistion, Reach Out Cameroon, is member.

These respected names, Ngah noted, accompanied CENPA members in the selection process to ensure credibility of all those to be recognised in the different categories today.
