Rinyu in fresh battle with Akumba Music boss.

Achu Normad: Akumba Music boss and Ngah Rinyu

The animosity between singer, Rinyu, and the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of his former label, Akumba Music, Achu Normad, has resurfaced.

Rinyu whose real name is Ngah Rinyu and Achu are battling over songs which were produced while the singer was with the label.

The recent clash between the two in the last few days has inflamed the social media.

Achu is accusing Rinyu of having failed to respect a deal they reached a few months ago to end arguments that erupted when Rinyu decided to leave.

A few days ago, Achu came out, accusing Rinyu of having performed songs which Akumba Music produced without paying the royalties she had agreed on with him.

Achu also said he has seen the singer on billboards as part of a singing competition without being notified of what was going. Achu among other things, said he has put a new ban on Rinyu not to perform any of her songs that were produced by Akumba music.

“Since December 10th, 2023 till today July 10th, Rinyu has not given me a single franc for all the shows she has booked and performed Akumba Music songs at,” he wrote.

He recalled having invested his resources to produce Rinyu’s songs. Achu said he still granted her permission to end a 15-year contract she had signed with Akumba Music.

Achu said part of the offer is a permission given to Rinyu to perform Akumba Music songs, adding that: “I also offered to continue paying her royalties so as to support her new journey. I believe she’s my legacy and needs to keep it going in flying colours”.

The music producer recounted despite performing in several shows, Rinyu has not given his own part of the money she made. He said from his calculations, Rinyu is owing Akumba Music about 4 million FCFA.

While insisting on his fresh ban, Achu opined that: “She has her freedom and ability to create her own music and sound, let her perform only her new songs” during shows.

“When she gets to Canada for her tour, let her and her people dance to her new song ‘Damaged’ and she should not touch ‘Controller’ and Akumba Music songs”.

While Rinyu is yet to react to the accusations. Reports hold that a lot of entertainers and seniors in the industry have tried severally to settle the matter to no avail.
