Presbyterian Church Dibanda Mile 14: Rev Ngomo Dibo gets hero’s welcome as pioneer resident pastor.

Speaking during the service on behalf of the congregation, the Congregational Chairperson, Elder Mukom Mercy, said it was a history-making day in the life of PC Dibanda Mile 14 Buea. 

She added that the Presbyterian Christian family in Dibanda is loving and peaceful and ready to work with the pastor to spread God’s word. 

On his part and on behalf of the Dibanda village, the Chairman of Traditional Council, Mola Armstrong Tekoh, said the entire village has taken seriously the coming of the first resident pastor PC Dibanda. 

He said that was why the village, through the Chief, decided to provide a residence (the former palace) for the Pastor, noting that the security of the Pastor was guaranteed. 

Message of peace, love and reconciliation

Taking the pulpit, the newly transferred pastor, Rev Ngomo Dibo Mathias, said history has been created and made in PC Dibanda Mile 14 Buea as it would be recorded as a fact that he is the pioneer Resident Pastor. 

He added that he has come with the message of peace, love and reconciliation, noting that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself “not counting our sins and has thus entrusted to us the message of reconciliation”.

Rev Ngomo Dibo further said that he considers all the Christians and people of Dibanda Mile 14 Buea as his mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters and expects them to do the same to him. 

He also noted that in military understanding, the strongest soldiers are sent where the battle is the toughest and fiercest. 

The man of God disclosed that he spent six years at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, PTS, Kumba as lecturer and Vice Dean in charge of Students' Affairs where he trained and taught over 120 PCC Pastors how to do pastoral work and now, he has to do the same. 

Appointed Dibanda palace Spiritual Adviser 

In an Extraordinary Traditional Council Session that was held on Thursday July 4, the traditional ruler of Dibanda Mile 14 Buea, HRM Chief Davidson Ndive Ikome, who presided over the session, appointed Rev Ngomo Dibo the Spiritual Adviser of the Palace and the Traditional Council and also announced plans for the entire village to welcome him on Thursday July 11. 

However, tongues have been wagging as controversy has surrounded Rev Ngomo Dibo’s transfer. Some colleagues and students have regretted his departure, stressing that he was one of the main persons in the PCC Seminary in Kumba. 

Some hold the opinion that Rev Ngomo Dibo has been transferred because of his no-nonsense and vocal stance against sexual immorality in the Seminary. 

He is said to have often insisted that the Seminary must be a place of example and morality to Kosala Kumba and the entire Meme Division. 

It should be noted that Rev Dibo would be missed by the English-speaking Journalism family of Meme as he was a stakeholder to the journalism family in Meme. 

He has always presented inciting lectures, talks and papers during celebrations of the World Press Freedom Day. 

In the last celebration, he presented a paper titled: “Do not add or subtract: Just tell the Story as it happened”, drawing inspiration from the Bible that says do not add or subtract anything from it.
