Department of National Meteorology forecasts destructive rains in four regions.

In the report, DMN warned that heavy rains accompanied by wind in several regions will be recorded this month.

According to the bulletin, the rains could lead to power outages, disruptions in transportation, debris projection as well as fog formation in the Adamawa, South West, North West, and West Regions.

The DMN in the report equally urged inhabitants of the projected regions to be more cautious. The institution warned people to avoid driving or standing near trees as a result of the strong winds that may come with rain.

The report equally warned of the high risk diseases like meningitis and respiratory infections as a result poor weather conditions.

The department has also called on people in the outlined regions to wear a face mask to mitigate all forms of health risks during the projected period.

It should be recalled that this is not the first time that a state institution has predicted a difficult associated with rains and storms in recent times

The National Observatory on Climate Change, NOCC in a weather forecast report published on July 1 had also predicted severe rainfall in several regions of the country. 

According to the note published by the Head of the Climate Forecasting Department at NOCC, Armand Soleil Bata, the country would experience a record-breaking rainfall in the next three months.

The rainfall according to the report could surpass levels never seen in the past fifty years. According to the prediction the Centre, South, West, East, and Littoral Regions are expected to be most affected.
