Developing minds, communities: Organisation unveils vision to empower young girls, women.

“We know that financial and material support are crucial for young girls and women, but we need to coach them on how to put the support to proper use,” Prof AyukAko stated.

Prof AyakAko revealed the model during an on-boarding workshop for AUDAV staff, partners, members and potential beneficiaries. The workshop took place Saturday June 8 at the Women Empowerment Centre in Limbe, Fako Division.

Audacious Voices is an association authorised in September 2021 that seeks to inspire and empower women in education and women entrepreneurship. 

Prof AyakAko said the workshop was an opportunity to train the technical team and present them to members and potential beneficiaries.

The training took place under the theme “improving workforce management to ensure productivity in girl child education and women entrepreneurship”. Trainees gained knowledge on the values of the organisation.

Going by the CEO, “on-boarding our technical team will enable them to understand the vision, culture, activities, mission and objectives of this organisation so that by the time they start engaging with the public they can give the appropriate information and assistance needed”.

Speaking to the press, Prof AyukAko said her organisation will fight to ensure young girls and women contribute their share in developing the society. 

“We want to format the mentality of young girls and women to understand that it is not enough to be a woman. We need to put our feminism into proper use to contribute to the development of our society,” she said.

Meanwhile, Dr Magdalene Agbor addressed participants on the importance of the technical team of the organisation. She charged them to take ownership of the mission and vision of the organisation in ensuring its success.

On her part, Ewang Mirabel, the Sub Delegate of Women Empowerment and the Family for Limbe I Subdivision, encouraged the participants to make the most of the knowledge gained. Ewang also reminded them of the need to contribute to the development of the country and the empowerment of women and girls.

Kih Patience Jam, one of the participants, said the workshop enabled her to understand what it takes to become a leader, which involves a desire to serve. She promised to use the knowledge acquired to coach and inspire other young girls and women to become the best of themselves.
