Implementing home-grown school feeding, fighting Hepatitis B: Community Vision Group, Tubah Council seal deal.

The deal, which was signed Tuesday June 4, will see both institutions implement home-grown school feeding, Hepatitis B campaign programme, set up a Centre for Nutritional Assessment, and a community library in the Tubah municipality.

The partnership was sealed through the signing of separate MoUs by the Mayor of the Tubah Council, Tanjong Martin Meshongong, and the Country Director of CVG, Ntang Julius Meleng, in the presence of staff from both institutions.

It is in line with the desire to contribute to the realisation of the Global Sustainable Development Goals, coupled with the Cameroon government’s 2030 National Development Strategy and the 2035 Emergence Vision that Community Vision Group signed the partnership agreement with the Tubah Council.

Speaking after the signing of the agreement, the Country Director of CVG, Ntang Julius Meleng, expressed his gratitude towards the swift action and readiness of the Tubah Council towards the implementation and realisation of the projects.  

“Thank you, Lord Mayor, for this partnership opportunity between CVG and your municipality for this step we have taken is one to celebrate,” Ntang said.

He went on to add that: “What CVG will do will send waves throughout the community and beyond. Thank you for your commitment and zero hesitation in the implementation of these projects that I am confident will be invaluable in the development of the Tubah Municipality”. 

In response, Mayor Tanjong acknowledged and congratulated CVG for its efforts in supporting and promoting education, agriculture, school nutrition, health, innovation, and research, saying it will go a long way in transforming the Tubah municipality.

“It is an honour for us to have CVG on board in the development process of our municipality and I know if we all work relentlessly, then success is inevitable in achieving our goals which are to enhance education, promote health, nutrition, innovation and research,” he said.

He added that Tubah Council is ready to put all hands on deck for the smooth running of activities throughout the entire project.

As both parties separated after the signing ceremony, they took a rendezvous to discuss the launching of the community library and the centre for agriculture.

Community Vision Group, registered in the United Kingdom, Cameroon and Malawai, has a vision which is to help transform communities. 

The organisation’s core programme is the “Feed the Child” initiative, emerging from a deep burden to meet the food security, health, and nutritional as well as educational needs of primary-aged children in Cameroon and beyond.

The programme is already being implemented in some councils in the country, among them the Fonfuka Council in Boyo Division of the North West Region.
