MTN Cameroon, Canal+ partner to transform online streaming.

The marketing lead of CANAL+ Cameroun, Justine Zeinse, speaking at the press briefing, said: “Users will no more need to travel far or wait impatiently to receive or send money in order to enjoy our services. What you need to do is to register and enjoy the ease and convenience that mobile money gives”.

The unprecedented partnership will enable MTN subscribers to watch Canal+ channels directly on their smartphones. 

This collaboration, MTN's Marketing Director, Riadh Mezi, said marks an important step in the evolution of the Cameroonian audiovisual landscape, offering users increased flexibility and accessibility in terms of entertainment.

The telecommunications operator now offers its six million smartphone users the possibility of experiencing HD television on their smartphone, offline viewing, amass largest traffic on the Internet through an application called MTN TV.

“Today we have a database of nearly 13 million customers, among whom are six million smartphone subscribers, who receive activities on our network at least every thirty days. It was important to provide our customers with content that seemed distant to them. The goal is to democratise Canal + and make them accessible to our smallest subscribers," Riadh Mezi noted.  

With MTN TV, users can enjoy unlimited streaming of their favourite shows and movies available on Canal+ channels any time and from anywhere. 

The app's user-friendly interface makes it easy to navigate and find content. The app also features a search function that allows users to quickly find the content they are looking for.

One of the significant advantages of MTN TV is its ability to stream Live TV channels, which provide users with access to current news, sports, and other live events.

The app also offers a wide variety of TV shows and movies in different genres, ensuring that users will always have something to watch. With 750 FCFA per day or 17,000 FCFA per week, a person can subscriber to their favourite programme through the app.

“Everyone will be able to choose the bundle that suits them and be able to enjoy their programmes daily or weekly. It’s about satisfying our subscribers. This will free them from the normal monthly subscriptions,” Justine Zeinze told the press.

It was disclosed that in order to enjoy the services, a person can open Google Playstore or AppStore and download the MyMTN Cameroon application. Then click on the Canal +, subscribe to a package according to his or her airtime and watch television on a smartphone without having a decoder.
