Donga Mantung SDO decorating Nkambe Gendarmerie Company Commander

The Gendarmerie Company Commander for Nkambe in Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region, Captain Timchia Elma Kisuh, has been awarded with a Medal of Valiancy for his bravery in ensuring the security of people and their property.
The Medal of Valiancy is a higher distinction that rewards exceptional acts of bravery performed by members of the Forces of Law and Order of the Republic of Cameroon.

He was decorated on May 20 on behalf of the Head of State, Paul Biya, by the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, of Donga Mantung, Basseliken Georges Emmanuel Magloire.
This was on the occasion of the 52nd edition of the National Day which was celebrated under the theme: “Army and Nation: Together for a United, Peaceful and Prosperous Cameroon”.
The gendarmerie official has expressed gratitude to his hierarchy for the recognition and has promised to more than ever before be at the service of Cameroonians.
It should be said that thanks to the combined efforts of the population, the elite as well as defence and security forces, Nkambe has remained relatively calm, serving as peace haven for people from other localities affected by the bloody armed conflict in the North West and South West regions.
However, a blast at the Nkambe grandstand on February 11, 2024, said to have been the handiwork of suspected separatists, left one person dead and several others injured. It was on a day several school children were taking part in a march past to mark the Youth Day.
Authorities described it as an isolated incident, with security and vigilance said to have been intensified since then to ensure that people go about their activities unperturbed.

About Captain Timchia
The Gendarmerie Company Commander is a product of the Yaounde Combined Services Military Academy, known by its French acronym EMIA.
The former student of Government High School, GHS, Belo in Boyo Division, is of the 2015 batch of young soldiers admitted into EMIA.
The 35-year-old is also a graduate of the University of Yaounde II, Soa, and holds a Master’s Degree in International Law.
He is holder of two diplomas in Anti-terrorism; one obtained from the Morocco Royal Military School and another from the International Anti-terrorism Academy in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, specialising in Cyber Criminality.
