Hon Dr Fonge Julius donates to Nguti population on National Day.

The offer from the MP comprised 2,100 kilograms of improved Cassava cuttings, a modern generator to the Nguti District Hospital, financial assistance of 500,000 FCFA to the community of Badun for their water catchment projects and 250,000 FCFA to the Divisional Officer of Nguti for the rehabilitation of the toilet in his guest apartment.

Other donations were; six computers handed to schools within  Nguti Subdivision. The beneficiary schools are; Government School Mbetta; Government Technical College Nzelleted; Government Secondary School Manyemen; Government Technical College Mungo Ndoh; Government School Beme and Saint Andrew Comprehensive College Nguti.

The lawmaker also offered cash donations to the Nguti Traditional Council for its massive participation during National Day celebrations. Hon Fonge gave roofing sheets to Government School Ayong. He said the zinc was to rehabilitate a part of the institution that was destroyed by wind.

Fonge expressed joy in giving to his people, stressing on the need to enhance education, boost their standard of living and combat poverty. He reiterated his believe in sharing whatever one has, irrespective of how small it may be.

As for May 20 celebrations, Hon Fonge commended the ground work which the Divisional Officer for Nguti did to make things go on smoothly. 

He also thanked the CPDM Section President of the area for having organised a series of activities leading to the event.

DO salutes bravery of security forces 

Speaking on the success of the National Day, the DO of Nguti thanked defense and security forces for demonstrating professionalism and resilience. He declared that he is proud of the security situation in his administrative unit

The administrator also expressed joy that people are increasingly returning to their communities? He urged others to follow the example and return to their communities.

Snippet of the activities in Nguti 

Prior to the National Day celebration in Nguti, members of the CPDM party in Kupe-Muanenguba II Section led by its Section President, Ajang Evaristus Etetuoh, organised a series of activities to reawaken the population.  Ajang said there was need to make the population have a sense of belonging.

Some of the activities included; cooking competition with the participation of the different tribes that make up Nguti Subdivision notably; Basosi, Bakossi,  Balong and Mbo. Participants presented different traditional dishes.

There was also a cross country race, football completion among others. Young people actively took part in the activities. The activities ended with camp fire lighting procession from the DO’s residence to the Nguti Municipal Grandstand. The population joyfully took part, singing patriotic songs in the process.

The CPDM party bigwigs also used the events to thank the Director General of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilisation Fund, CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh, for his leading role in rallying the population to be part of the National Day celebration.
