Ekondo-Titi: Hon Njume Peter powers free  health screening, National Day celebration.

The Member of Parliament, MP, for Ekondo-Titi, in Ndian Division of the South West Region, Hon Njume Peter Ambang, has used activities marking this year’s National Day, celebrated on Monday May 20, to boost community life in his constituency.

Besides engaging in a robust free health screening campaign, Hon Njume Peter was among the elite who mobilised the population to ensure an electrifying celebration of the National Day feast in his constituency.



The MP engaged in grassroots mobilisation to get people from across all sectors of life and origins resident in Ekondo-Titi, to actively take part in May 20 activities. 

Hon Njume availed himself as a rallying force to position Ekondo-Titi as a veritable area where peace, living together and national unity are vibrant.

Like it happened elsewhere across the country, the event in Ekondo-Titi recorded the participation of political parties with the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, stealing the show. 

There was the participation of schools across all levels. The military also spiced the parade with a beautiful outing. All these transpired under the leadership of the leadership of the Divisional Officer, DO, of Ekondo-Titi, Ful Francis.

Talking to reporters after the event, the MP for Ekondo-Titi, thanked the population for massively turning out to celebrate the National Day. Hon Ambang urged the population to remain ambassadors of peace, national development and unity.

The Divisional Officer in the same spirit saluted the unity and resilience of the population and for joining the nation to feast the 52nd edition of the National Day.

For the mayor of Ekondo-Titi municipality, Margaret Ndiba, her people will continue to be true examples of patriotism. She said the participation of the population was a way to show their level of devotion to the nation.

Hon Njume: National Unity Father Christmas 

Prior to the National Day feast in Ekondo-Titi, Hon Njume Peter touched the lives of his constituents in several ways. Among his actions which positioned him as a Father Christmas of the season, were; a free health screening campaign and training of farmers on modern plantain seed multiplication techniques. 

He also sponsored an inter-service football competition to strengthen cohesion and unity.

Regarding the Hon Njume-bankrolled health outreach, women and children especially, were screened and treated. 

There was focus on the malaria disease for children under the age of five years and pregnant women.

There was also screening for diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. The population was also educated on the Head of State’s Universal Health Coverage, UHC, scheme. The benefactor told his people that the actions are meant to improve their wellbeing.
