Int’l exhibition for Canadian Universities underway in Yaounde.

Speaking during the event, the expert in International Business Development said the forum is offering Cameroonian students a unique opportunity to explore wide range of academic programs across various disciplines, learn about scholarships and financial aid options.

They will also have the possibility to connect directly with university representatives and get answers to their questions as well as discover the benefits of studying and working in Canada.

He described the exhibition as a valuable resource for Cameroonian students seeking to pursue higher education and job opportunities abroad.

As to the choice of Canadian varsities whereas they are working with over 2,000 universities across the world, the Managing Director of Globus Education Systems, stated that Canada is one of the top destination for studying and work abroad. 

“We are exhibiting universities that we represent here in Cameroon so as to enable students get to know the new requirements to get admissions to study in Canada,” he said.

Why the exhibition

Mbameg pointed out that unlike before, where students applied directly to universities in Canada, there have been changes in the study permit procedures.

“…On January 22, 2024, the Canadian government announced new changes in the study permit procedures to Canada. The universities are adjusting to the new procedures and that is why we decided to organise this exhibition to let students and the public understand some of these changes,” he said. 

He also mentioned that there are certain fields of study where they orientate their students on.

“Canada has made significant advancement more than Cameroon in fields like Science, IT, Aeronautics, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering and we think Cameroonians can take interest in these fields, go out there, study and why not come back home to contribute to the development of Cameroon,” he added. 

Openings for job offers

Apart from helping to guide students on how to gain admission into higher institutions of learning in Canada, Globus Education Systems is also assisting individuals who have certain skills and are looking to pick up job offers in Canada.

“Our main business is to assist students who want to study abroad but along the line, we have also realised that there are some skills that are presently being needed in Canada. So we are also trying to assist some students who have concluded their studies and have those schools to work directly,” Globus Education Systems MD said. 

Globus Education Systems officials are upbeat that the time the exhibition wraps up on Friday May 24, it would have generated significant interest among the public and contribute to vibrant educational landscape of Cameroon.

The organisation which has been existing since 2020 has its headquarters in Yaounde and is represented in six African countries.
