The quartet was paraded in Yaounde on Wednesday May 8 and taken to the scene of the incident to re-enact the crime they are suspected to have committed.

How Eva Pauline was killed

According to police investigations, Ahmadou Ousseni and Tchey Pagbe Remi confessed that on the night of March 27, 2024, at about 7p.m., they made their way into the residence where their victim lived.

They reportedly entered through the gate behind the house which was opened and waited for her to return since she wasn’t home at that moment.

When Eva Pauline said to be the ex-girlfriend of Ahmadou Oussnei arrived, they followed her into her sitting room, assaulted and forced her to call her relatives for ransom.
Going by police findings, the victim made a phone call informing her grandmother that she had been kidnapped by unknown men who were demanding a ransom for her release but her phone was switched off a few minutes later.

It is said that before leaving the scene that fateful day, 20-year-old Tchey Pagbe stroked the victim twice on the head with the help of a pestle and later on suffocated her to death. After committing the act, they took away her phone and her car.

The family is said to have remained in the dark regarding her whereabouts and it was only until April 12, 2024 that her lifeless body was found in her house where she lived alone, in an advance state of decomposition.

While her remains were laid to rest, the family tabled a complaint to security forces for investigation.

Police investigation led to the arrest of Ousmanou Ben Sadou and Ahmadou Bagaya, who was dismissed from the police force and is elder brother to Ahmadou Ousseni.

At the time of their arrest, they were in possession of a Yaris vehicle matriculated CE592MA and a mobile phone belonging to their victim. They are said to have been looking for a buyer for the car.

The State Attorney to the Mfoundi High Court, Ndi Ndi Luc who was at the crime scene alongside the head of the Centre Regional Division of the Judicial Police, Commissioner Emane Emane Moise quizzed the suspects to get more details of what actually transpired.
