Cameroonian health professional, Ndasi Noubissi Maxel, has been appointed the Chairman for Africa on the Nurses in Charge International Committee.

The Cameroonian was assigned the strategic role following an appointment decision released last week.

He was appointed by Kasey Pacheco, the Executive DirectorNurses in Charge Inc, a United States-based nonprofit organisation.

In a letter addressed to Ndasi Maxel and seen by The Guardian Post, the Executive Director of the global body wrote: “Your remarkable experience, expertise, and genuine passion for nursing, particularly within the African continent, have left a lasting impression on our nonprofit organisation. We greatly value and appreciate your dedication to advancing the nursing profession and advocating for nurses' rights and well-being”.

He then revealed that: “With great excitement, we extend a heartfelt invitation to you to assume the esteemed position of Chairman for Africa on the Nurses in Charge International Committee. In this significant role, we envision harnessing your leadership skills and insights to identify and cultivate partnerships with nursing organisations and bodies across Africa”.

The Executive Director continued: “Together, we aim to serve nurses more comprehensively, while fostering connections and celebrating the invaluable contributions of nurses throughout the continent”.

“We understand that you may have other commitments and interests, and it is our sincere intention that the time you dedicate to this role will complement and enhance your ongoing endeavors, while also providing you with a platform to engage with a broader global nursing audience,” he added.

He told the appointee that the objective of the organisation is to expand the body’s membership with visionary leaders “like yourself who are passionate about empowering and uplifting fellow nurses. We trust that your leadership and guidance will bring immense value to our organization, as we work together to build an international grassroots movement dedicated to advancing the nursing profession and serving humanity”.

“We kindly request a commitment of at least 2 hours per month for focused and dedicated work on advancing our initiatives.

Thank you for your dedication and consideration of this proposal. We are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to collaborate with you and to leverage your expertise to further our shared mission of supporting nurses across Africa and beyond,” Kasey Pacheco concluded.

Meanwhile, reacting to his appointment, Ndasi Maxel, described the development as a diplomatic victory for Cameroon.

“To Africans and to Cameroon in particular, the organization is going to be resourceful in harmonisation of Nursing Training,” he stated.

He said in his new role, he will initiate diplomatic engagement between African states permitting free flow circulation and integration of the said nurses across the continent “and to some extend with the rest of the world”.

Nurses In Charge, it should be said, is a faith-driven nonprofit founded in 2022. The mission of the organization is to unite nurses from diverse backgrounds, bridging gaps between novice and expert professionals.

Committed to mutual support, the organisation guides nurses toward their highest aspirations, fostering meaningful and purposeful careers.

The vision of the organisation sees a global community of empowered nurses leading positive change, elevating practice standards, and advocating for widespread recognition as essential healthcare leaders.
