Biya knights CNPS DG for remarkable contribution to raising state finances.

The Head of State, President Paul Biya, has decorated the Director General, DG, of the National Social Insurance Fund, NSIF, popularly known by its French abbreviation CNPS, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, for his key role in raising state finances.
Mekulu Mvondo was decorated at a recent ceremony in Yaounde which was presided over by the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze.

The CNPS boss was awarded Knight of the National Order of Valor medal in recognition of his institution’s remarkable contribution to the State’s financial operations on the public securities market, amounting to 130.6 billion FCFA.

The Minister of Finance, while handing over the award congratulated the CNPS boss for his personal involvement in the various gains made by the Treasury on the financial market.

Minister Motaze pointed out that the honorary distinction from the Head of State is to encourage the institution to continue to work for the common interest.

The DG of CNPS on his part expressed gratitude to President Biya for such a recognition.

Mekulu Mvondo stated that the reward is not just for him alone but for everyone working to make CNPS the distinguished institution it is.

“I am extremely proud to receive such a special distinction from the President of the Republic, who in a way recognizes our contributions to the national construction effort, especially with our contribution to the State budget,” Mekulu Mvondo stated.

He further told the media that: “The reward is for the collective work we all do. I work with the efforts, will and individual support of my collaborators to make CNPS what it is”.

CNPS as the State’s social security institution plays an active role in development, through its efficient management of financial resources and optimization of investments.

According to the DG, CNPS’ investment principle is based on economic and social utility, as well as effective contribution to growth.

It is involved in financing the deficit in health facilities, to complement the actions of the State.

In this way, it has contributed to the renovation of some State institutions and ministries, the construction of the Okolo residential complex in Yaounde.

CNPS has also contributed to complete the real estate offer, and the improvement of medical care via its reference health structures such as the Essos Hospital in Yaounde, and the Garoua and Maroua medico-social centers, among others.
