Digital transformation: CNPS shares experience with startups, enterprises, drums digital overhaul.

The National Social Insurance Fund, NSIF, popularly known by its French abbreviation, CNPS, has shared its huge experience in digialisation with some startups and enterprises. 

This was during the second edition of the ‘You@Work’ conference.



The confab took place in Yaounde on April 27. It was organised by business consulting firm, Learn and Adapt, under the patronage of the CNPS.

Officials of the CNPS, used the gathering to drum the general overhaul of services with priority on digitalisation as the best way to boost output and sustain quality.

It was organised under the theme: “Reinventing the enterprise: The intersection between digital transformation and employee-customer harmony”. 

Experts and professionals at the confab shared knowledge on challenges and opportunities of working in an ever-changing digital environment.

The founder of Learn and Adapt who also doubles as promoter of ‘You@Work’, Nadia Habsatou, also delivered a lecture.

 

CNPS as leader in digital transformation

The ‘You@Work’ promoter pointed out that CNPS is a national leader as far as digitalisation of services is concerned. Habsatou said on the basis of its experience, it was necessary for the institution to share its huge experience with other enterprises and entrepreneur.

“We want these young business minds to know they can succeed in transforming their businesses and communities, by helping them succeed in digital transformation,” Habsatou told The Guardian Post.

Speaking at the conference, the Technical Director at CNPS, Bagoura Souaibou, who represented the Director General, DG, of the corporation, Noel Alain Mekulu Mvondo, said they had long embraced the challenge of digitalisation.

Bagoura highlighted that considering CNPS’ role as government’s spokesperson concerning social security, and the herculean task of managing employers and insured persons, the long discovered that digitalisation was a must. 

The digital move, he said, has enabled CNPS to offer the best services to clients, employees and the State.

He told participants that in this era, digitalisation is inevitable for every enterprise. Bagoura urged the entrepreneurs and businesses represented at the gathering not to hesitate in embarking on digital transformation. He assured them it is a good path to follow to improve services.

“We are here to support enterprises that want to join the global trend of digitalizing their services,” Bagoura declared, adding that: “We therefore call on established as well as startup enterprises to seize the opportunity to digitalise as it will help them improve their services, manage their clients and personnel”.

In a video message, the DG of CNPS, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, mentioned that CNPS is able to manage its interactions thanks to its robust digital mechanism. 

He assured that it has made it easier for the company to handle its thousands of workers and provide clients and insured person’s nationwide with prompt and simplified services.

He added that CNPS over the years has strategically adopted innovative digital solutions to boost service delivery. Mekulu Mvondo cited online biometric registrations, data recovery systems, online declaration of payments as well as applications and information systems to rapidly treat documents among others. 

These options, he said, have modernised access to CNPS services and pave the way for more humane and easily accessible management of social security benefits.

Bridging digital & human transformation gap

Nadia Habsatou noted that the concept ‘You@Work’ was launched in 2022 to bridge the gap between digital and human transformation. 

“The world is digitalizing at a very fast rate and sometimes, people have a hard time catching up. So we seek to bridge this gap by helping them especially business people adapt to new technologies which can sometimes be overwhelming,” she said.

Habsatou added that, this year, they decided to add a Tedx speaking and engagement panel dubbed Tedx Fébé to the ‘You@Work’ conference. She said it was to enable participants get firsthand engagement with industry experts and professionals.

TED which is acronym for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It is a United States organisation known for its TED Talks conferences marked by short and powerful presentations on diverse topics.

Habsatou explained that adding Tedx Fébé to the ‘You@Work’ initiative provides Cameroonian entrepreneurs with a platform that has international recognition especially in the United States. 

General Manager at MTN Cameroon Business Unit, Frank Gerard Kom, who spoke as a Tedx Fébé panelist, confirmed the advantages such brings. 

Kom said: “Tedx is the leader in conferences with a wide audience. We are happy with this initiative because in the world today it is not enough to have ideas, but to make the ideas known and Tedx Fébé will facilitate that”. 

He declared that: “In the name of MTN Cameroon, we are here to encourage businesses to transform and adapt to innovative technologies”.
