Meme: Military kills dreaded Amba ‘General’, assistant.

The late Desmond Koa aka ‘General’ Mad Dog

A detachment of security forces of the 21st Support Battalion, has crushed to extinction, the dreaded separatist fighter, Desmond Koa, who was operating on the self-styled name of ‘General Mad Dog’.
He was killed during an operation on Wednesday April 24. Koa was neutralised alongside his aide, Marcel Ayere, who was operating under the name ‘Colonel Doctor’.

Their corpses were paraded Wednesday April 24, in Kumba, at nightfall at the BICEC Junction.

Speaking while the corpses were being paraded, the Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Meme, Chamberlain Ntou'ou Ndong, said ‘General’ Mad Dog was Head Councillor of Nkumu Nkumu Quarter Council. Nkumu Nkumu is a small village in Mbonge Subdivision.

The SDO said Koa masterminded the killing of PAMOL workers, in the Lobe Estate. The administrator said the deceased was also the face behind threats against workers of the agro-industrial company.

‘General’ Mad Dog and his cohorts, the SDO also told onlookers, destroyed over 600 National Identity Cards belonging to citizens. He further narrated that the self-styled General kidnapped business persons and cocoa buyers for huge ransoms.

According to the Meme SDO, Mad Dog operated at Lobo Junction in Kombone Mission, Boa Bakundu, Bombele, Nkumu Nkumu, Bombanda and parts of Ndian Division.

The SDO used the parading of the corpses to appeal for collaboration between the population and security forces.

Ntou’ou Ndong also saluted security forces for what he said was their bravery in securing persons and their properties.

In recent times, Meme Division has been enjoying relative peace with works on major project such as the Kumba-Ekondo-Titi Road progressing smoothly.
