To ensure effective projects execution: Centre Regional Council drills staff on Public Private Partnership.

The First Vice President of the Centre Regional Council, Jean Claude Sanama Nkono, chaired the training. It took place under the guide of the Support Council for the Realisation of Partnership Contracts.

According to the First Vice President of the Centre Regional Council, the institution had in its action plan adopted in December 2023 focused on the need to boost the realization of major infrastructure projects.

The training, Sanama Nkono said, will set the pace for the Centre Region to explore other funding options especially from the private sector to boost infrastructural development.

He said the Support Council for the Realisation of Partnership Contracts, was drafted into the training to help workers master mechanisms in projects realisation.

According to the President of the Support Council for the Realisation of Partnership Contracts, Dieudonne Bondoma Yokono, it is imperative to step up the capacity of workers at the time the decentralisation process is being enhanced.

Yokono underscored that the staff received training on the modalities and requirements to effectively execute projects carried out through Public Private Partnerships.

He also said the training will help the Centre Regional Council to be able to initiate, prepare contracts and monitor the execution of Public Private Partnership projects. Those trained, Yokono also said, gained insight relating to tax, financial and accounting rules in place.

The resource person said, in this era, it is imperative for staff to master issues around Public Private Partnerships so as to better deal with stakeholders involved in the project chain.

Resource persons said, Public Private Partnerships provide an innovative financing instrument to accelerate development. 

They said given its ambitious development plan, the Centre Regional Council can engage the private sector to realise major projects.
