Ngoketungia Division: Balikumbat Women's Association hands assistance to underprivileged women.

The support was handed over to the women by the Balikumbat Women's Association during the groups General Assembly that held April 7 in Bamenda.

The Balikumbat Women's Association, led by its president, Hon Judith Meno, assembled in Bamenda, conscious of the havoc caused by the socio-political crisis in their village. The 2024 meeting was a platform for them to preach peace. 

Thus, during the meeting, Hon Judith Meno urged the women to be peace promoters and be each other’s keeper.

"Following the objective of our association, which is to foster peace, unity, love, solidarity, to promote our culture and to bring the Balikumbat women under one umbrella, we should continue to preach the message of peace in our various families," she said.

The core objectives of the Balikumbat Women's Association, since its creation in 2019, is to assist each other, especially the vulnerable. This year, some vulnerable women have benefited from the financial support. 

One of the beneficiaries Ma Buna, a window, expressed gratitude after receiving the financial assistance from the group 

"They had asked me what I can do and I told them I like poultry farming. I had started but ran short of funds. I have been blessed today and I am really happy," she disclosed.

Aside showcasing their culture, the annual General Assembly of the Balikumbat Women's Association, attended by over 300 members, featured the election of executive members, with the women renewing their confidence in Hon Judith Meno, President General of the group. Funds were also raised to support orphans in schools, the sick, and other underprivileged people as part of projects earmarked for upcoming months.
