The British Council Regional Exams Director Officer of Sub-Saharan Africa, Keshav Sreedharan, has announced that renowned Yaounde-based academic institution, MADA International School Complex, will soon receive a Cambridge accreditation.

The official, who is on his maiden visit to Cameroon, made the announcement Monday March 18. This was during a visit to the Obili-Yaounde campus of MADA International School Complex.

He was accompanied by the Country Director of the British Council, Caroline Ndifor.

According to the British Council Regional Exams Director Officer for Sub-Saharan Africa, the aim of his first visit to Cameroon is “to see how to work with schools to increase UK qualification”.

The Director expressed optimism that the qualification would greatly benefit the generation of young Cameroonians seeking to make the nation, themselves and their families proud.

“Cameroon is at an interesting stage. There is a great demand for UK qualifications, particularly Cambridge qualifications. I am in this school that has applied to become an accredited Cambridge Centre,” Keshav said.

He added that: “I am really impressed seeing the excellent facilities and the passion that schools have for education, particularly UK education,” he said.

The Regional Director also said: “All schools have to go through a complex accreditation process, which involves making the necessary changes with their infrastructure and teaching methodologies”.

At MADA, he said, the team “has put in a lot of hard work. They have completed all the requirements that are necessary for accreditation. All we are now waiting for is the final statement from the University of Cambridge”.
