In 58th Youth Day message: Kupe-Muanenguba II MP salutes resilience of Nguti youth.

The Member of Parliament, MP, for Kupe-Muanenguba II Constituency (Nguti), Hon Dr Fonge Julius Fongouck, has saluted the resilience of youths across Nguti Subdivision and promised more support for their activities and initiatives. 



The positive remark of the lawmaker is contained in a goodwill message delivered to the youth of his constituency, as they prepare for the 58th edition of the national Youth Day. 

Hon Fonge said he is proud of the youth of his constituency, especially those who have taken interest in agriculture, craftsmanship and those involved in small businesses.

The grassroots politician and diehard supporter of the ruling CPDM party, also hailed the contribution of young people in the economy, notably in the cocoa and timber sectors. 

Speaking further, the MP said the theme of this year’s Youth Day: "Youth, imports substitution and economic patriotism for Cameroon’s development", is a perfect reflection of the day-to-day realities of youths in the Kupe-Muanenguba II constituency. 

Hon Fonge seized the opportunity to call on youths of Nguti Subdivision, through their different associations, including Nguti Youths Global, Mboka Youths and supporters of the Youth Wing of the CPDM; to turn out massively and be part of the Youth Day celebrations in Nguti, tomorrow. 

 

 

Hon Fonge & contribution to support youth activities 

Hon Fonge, it should be said, has actively been contributing to support activities of youths and empowering others across the constituency.

The MP has offered scholarships to Nursery and Primary School pupils in a bid to encourage academic excellence. 

He has also repeatedly offered financial assistance to youth groups to celebrate Youth Day activities, assisted the admission of more than 33 children from Nguti origin, into professional schools and assisted others to get recruited in the public service among others. 

The MP has also supported sports by sponsoring holiday football activities in the localities of Mongo Ndoh and Banyue and the Nzo Ekangaki Football Club NAMFA through the purchase of various football kits.

He has also given financial assistance to rehabilitate the roof of Government School Fonki and provided bundles of zinc for Government School Lebock. 

Hon Fonge has also offered financial assistance to Government Technical School, GTC Nguti, to help officials repair the bad roof of the school classrooms and also donated modern computers to GTC Nguti.

With the collaboration of the population, Hon Fonge constructed a public toilet in GTC Nzelleted, bought and handed zinc to schools across the Subdivision, which roofs were destroyed by wind.

He also financially supported Government School Njungo and Government School Mboa to build the walls of their classrooms destroyed by rain.

In the 2021/2022 academic year, the lawmaker distributed didactic materials to all functional schools in Nguti Subdivision. 

In the 2022/2023 school year, in collaboration with Nguti elite, Okie Johnson Ndoh, the MP bought and shared didactic materials to schools in all the clans in the Subdivision. 

He also supported Open Business Day in GTC (CETIC) Nguti and sent financial support to schools that were struggling to function, but lacked financial means to pay their teachers, especially Government School Babobok. 

This 2023/2024 academic year, the MP has decided to give excellence awards to meritorious pupils and students, who have kept schooling alive in Nguti town. He has also opted to pay the registration fees of pupils in examination classes.

 

 

Appeal for peace, normalcy 

Hon Fonge for the umpteenth time, called on youth of the area who have picked up arms against the State, to heed President Biya’s peace call, drop their arms, join DDR Centres and join in the efforts to ensure return to normalcy. 

He has promised to continue assisting separatist fighters who have dropped their weapons, noting that Nguti Subdivision is “slowly becoming an island of peace. I personally think our brothers who were misled are now realising that and are slowly getting back to normal lives...," Hon Fonge said.
