The Director General of the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM, Philippe Camille Akoa, has been awarded the Honorary Membership position of the National Council for the Conscription of the Civic Service of Cameroon, NCCCSC.

The membership document was handed to Camille Akoa, by the President of NCCCSC, Clément Christ Ngimartoles.

This was during a recent ceremony at the head office of FEICOM in Yaounde.

The ceremony, according to the FEICOM boss, coincided with the presentation of the report on Phase I of the Great Campaign for the Revalorisation of National Symbols and Emblems of the country’s flag.

The ceremony took place in the presence of a delegation from the NCCCSC, led by its president, Clément Christ Ngimartoles.

According to the FEICOM boss, the aim of the activity, which he described as important, was to reawaken the national conscience on the need to respect the national flag and other state symbols.

The national flag, the note reads, is sacred like all other national emblems of the country. FEICOM, Philippe Akoa stated, is part of the dynamic team that works for the respect of national symbols and emblems.

This, he stated, with the introduction, two years ago, of the ceremonial hoisting of the flag, which holds every Monday at 7:30 a.m., both at the institution’s head office and in all FEICOM’s regional agencies in the country, is another way of contributing to the drive.

The award of Honorary Member of NCCCSC, he stated, was an opportunity to remind all staff of the efforts of Cameroon’s Founding Fathers in building Cameroon and the need for the current generation to do its part.

The FEICOM boss took a personal commitment to “appropriate the values of the State, through respect for our national symbols and emblems, and to ensure that they are respected in our work on behalf of communities”.
