Buea: Madding truck kills two, injures others, destroys several cars.

Eyewitness accounts hold that the truck on high speed, experienced break failure, resulting in the destruction of several cars along its path before crashing into the bar.

The bar, sources added, was full with anxious fans who were watching the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon Africa Cup of Nations match against the Scorpions of The Gambia. 

The madding truck had caused total commotion in the town as many had to flee to avoid being crushed. Dozens of Buea city dwellers sustained injuries in the course of the accident. 

The victims of the accident were rushed to the Buea Regional Hospital Annex for treatment. While some incurred light injuries, others who were badly injured were rushed to the Intensive Care Unit of the health facility. Reports indicate that most of the victims are responding to treatment.

The truck driver is said to have narrowly escaped being lynched by irate population. Cases of road accidents have been rare in the town of Buea. However, the town suffers the persistent issue of urban road traffic. 

The South West Regional capital city has only one major road which is responsible for most of the traffic congestion.

Many cases of accidents have in recent months, occurred along the Buea-Douala highway. At least two deaths have been recorded along the said road in two different accidents.
