AFCON 2023: Official sponsor, Orange Cameroun, spoils customers with trip tickets to Côte D’Ivoire.

Winners of trip tickets to Côte D’Ivoire in joyous mood

All-time official sponsor of the African Cup of Nations, AFCON, Orange Cameroun, has gifted some 50 persons of its customer base with all-expense paid trip tickets to Côte D’Ivoire.

The selected persons, who had gotten their lucky tickets for the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, were presented to the general public last Saturday.

Officials of the Communication and Marketing Department of Orange Cameroun used the occasion of the opening ceremony of AFCON to reiterate their unwavering support for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon and football in general.

Moving from the Isis Hotel in Bonanjo, Douala I Subdivision, a caravan transporting diehard supporters with Orange T-Shits and other paraphernalia, flagged the colours of Cameroon high across major neighbourhoods of the economic capital.

Chants of Cameroonian folkloric rhythms and sounds of the vuvuzelas, the Orange Cameroun team of hostesses brought the AFCON fever to the fan zone at Parcours Vita in the Douala V Subdivision.

The esplanade of Parcours Vita got all lighted up as regional, administrative and municipal authorities, city dwellers alike, watched on a large screen the projection of the AFCON opening ceremony.

As the event drew towards the end, the first batch of winners were handed their valises and air tickets to Côte D’Ivoire. Meanwhile, others had the chance to win Smart TVs, phones and SUV cars, amongst other goodies.

The campaign that has benefited more than 50 Cameroonians to win the trip to Côte D’Ivoire, was launched last December 2023.

A person who intended to be the lucky winner had to subscribe to one of Orange Cameroun’s offers on #111*1# or carry out a transaction on recently launched super app, "Max it".

The first 25 persons left for Côte D’Ivoire on Monday, while the second set shall be leaving today Thursday January 18.

Speaking on the largesse of Orange Cameroun towards its clients and football, Calvin Lele, the Spokesperson of Orange Cameroun, said: "Orange loves to get its lovable clients to what is essential and what we have as essential today is the AFCON in Côte D’Ivoire”.

It should be noted that for more than 15 years, the Orange Group in general and the Orange Cameroun in particular has been a major sponsor of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

To this, Calvin Lele added that, it was their support to the Lions "that justifies our presence here…we are happy to accompany them this time around and we hope the great jamboree will be even more beautiful with our sponsorship. We want to lead Cameroon to victory”.

It was revealed recently that Orange and the Confederation of African Football, CAF, renewed their partnership until 2025.

Thus, whether it is the men's and women's African Football Cups of Nations, all categories combined as well as the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup, Orange shall be present and support the influence of African Football.

"It will always be an honour for Orange to play alongside African football. We can see that the support is indeed continental. Orange supports football from the bottom, with particular emphasis on training young people who are the Indomitable Lions of tomorrow. Before arriving at the senior national team, we support the training of young footballers through the national football academy (ANAFOOT) which we have been supporting for several years already,” Orange Cameroun official noted.

Cameroon being a pool of talent, the officials of Orange Cameroun said the company has understood that the future of Cameroon's football is being built today and this requires good training at the grassroots.

As the AFCON unfolds, Orange Cameroun shall celebrate football with the people. Several Fan Zones have been set up to allow Cameroonians to experience the AFCON as if they were in Côté D’Ivoire.

Thus, they will be able to experience the atmosphere of the competition at the fan zones in Douala, Bafoussam, Yaoundé and in several other sites.
